I've been talking in chat about a little rabbit hole I've been fixated on lately, and it's all about how the Chinese have been hybridizing the human genome with pigs, monkeys, and also doing splices of monkeys and pigs, for the end goal of harvesting organs. There are plenty of videos and articles online about the ethics and theory involved in fucking with nature like this, but that doesn't matter because the Chinese are already doing it, and I'm sure they're not alone. Do we really need to breed a human-animal hybrid to have organs made?

Well, I dunno about you, but when it comes to creating organs for transplant, there are plenty of ways to skin that cat without resorting to animal violence. I like the idea of cloning, myself. That way, you're not stuck on anti-rejection meds for the rest of your life

So, how do you guys feel about that? Is this okay? What happens if they develop sapience? What if Ancaps take the wheel of history and they start producing furry sex slaves whose genome is the intellectual property of some corporation somewhere and if you impregnate it, its unholy child becomes the express property of this corporation? These are questions being asked, and boy howdy do they need answers because thinking about this too much is giving me a newfound depth to the sensation of disgust.

I like the idea of cloning, myself. That way, you're not stuck on anti-rejection meds for the rest of your life

But you'd have to wait for said clone to grow adult organs for it really to be of any use to you. I think synthetic organs will be the future, it's the same end result.
China is willing to experiment with children as they did with trying to make aids resistant kids (who ended up with their life time cut in half) because they really do not give a fuck about "ethics".

It would by itself bring certain evils....extensive genetic engineering of human beings, so that man in the future will no longer be a creation of nature, or of chance, or of God (depending on your religious or philosophical opinions), but a manufactured product. If you think that big government interferes in your life too much NOW, just wait till the government starts regulating the genetic constitution of your children...The only code of ethics that would truly protect freedom would be one that prohibited ANY genetic engineering of human beings, and you can be sure that no such code will ever be applied in a technological society... especially since to the majority of people many of its applications will seem obviously and unequivocally good.

I thought it failed because the human eggs didnt take the chimp sperm? Its been a while since i read up on it.
