I'm kinda suprised I haven't seen anyone talk about this.

Basically, this is the sequel to both the horror series Marble Hornets, and the short lived Clear Lakes 44.

Don't worry, no Slender Man or any popular internet spook bull shit.

Honestly, I was a huge fan of Marble Hornets, but this easily is 3 times better in every way.

Marble Hornets was really good when they werent talking or fighting. ECKVA is pretty good too. Marble Hornets could have been a pretty sweet ARG if the tools were available.

It’s made by the same guy but not featuring the same characters. I do think it’s tied into whatever “the Ark” from the previous series was supposed to be.

I loved Marble Hornets, and thought it was a shame what happened to the group making it. Eckva is fine so far, I like the weird imagery and the ambiguity up to a point, but I’m ready for them to start giving us some meat in terms of who our protagonist is and what the Eckva network is actually trying to do with him.

Will probably enjoy it, although it will be weird revisiting that series directly after so long.

I still rewatch MH sometimes, preferably when I’m drinking on my back porch in the dead of night. I definitely like the first season the best, when there was less direct dialogue and Jay was just starting to slip down the rabbit hole, but his story across all three seasons is pretty great. I’ll admit I stopped caring as much after he died, but his death really worked for me since it was mainly a story about his need for answers taking literally everything away from him. My only serious gripe is that they didn’t show us any of Brian’s life between when Alex fed him to the Operator and his emergence as the hooded man.

As for the new Eckva, do those names at the end mean anything to you? If we’ve seen those names before I don’t recall them.

Danielle, aka Dscott, aka, Danielle Scott, the person who we have been getting emails from throughout Clear Lakes 44 and Eckva, was the president of Clear Lakes Communications.

SHawkins and ARaymond were working under her at some point, it seems.

Hawkins is either lying about working for Eckva, or he just doesn't remember, kinda like the cast of Marble Hornets.

Kind of. I knew most of this at some point but forgot it. Need to refresh myself on the story. That’s one thing I did like about Marble Hornets; plenty of supplementary material but the important info was contained within the show.

ECKVA has been really interesting and trying to poke around the site and such along with a few others is fun. It's quite impressive that Troy's been able to do this all pretty much on his own (I don't know if his wifey helps, or if he has anyone else chipping in since the split with the THAC-guys). It's a good slow-burn, and I can't wait for more.
