The Endless Frontier Act - Watching America die is actually kind of fascinating

Much of the private industry research ends up in companies that are in bed with China.
If you really want to blackpill yourself, look up the Confucius Institutes sometime. The CCP has managed to worm its way into a significant number of universities across the globe, and pretty much the only thing these institutes do is run propaganda campaigns and spy on research projects/domestic persons of interest. A disgusting number of them still operate openly today, and it was only back in 2019 that the US Government finally started clamping down on them (in our country at least).

Why can't senate republicans just tell them to fuck off when they try to do this shit? Vote no every single time they add shit that doesn't belong in what originally was a decent bill. What are they gonna do, call you racist for the fiftieth time? Even if it passes, you still kicked up enough dirt for people to become aware of the bullshit that goes on outside of the media's eye and you look more dignified for it.

They don't want to lose the lobbying money, too.

The other day I was walking outside and I came across a wasp trap. One of those cylindrical ones with the cone inside. A single wasp trapped within. Every time it reached the exit of the trap and had almost escaped, it suddenly and inexplicably flew upwards away from it and smacked it's head on the ceiling, then falling back down and having to find it's way to the exit again.

It did this over and over as I sat and watched for 15 minutes, mesmerized. I think a lot about that wasp now.
lol calm down

That makes total sense when you realise China is the perfect enemy for the US/the West in the era of wokeness. One one hand China is ideologically, culturally and racially ‘different’ enough that right-wing nativists can be mobilized against them on the basis of xenophobia and anti-communism. On the other hand, a visibly prosperous layer of non-whites are a living refutation of Critical Race Theory's dogma of America as a ‘white supremacist’ society and so the resentment of the black underclass can also be mobilized against them.

China is also the only major non-Western country since the fall of the USSR that was able to become a great power through the framework of a non-liberal political system, it represents an alternative vision of globalization centred on the Eurasian landmass instead of the Western Atlantic metropoles which threatens to render the Western liberal elite irrelevant. Once their economic power is gone, their cultural hegemony will begin to wither too. China thus can arouse enmity and hatred across the political spectrum in the West and therefore serves as a perfect bogeyman to drum up support for whatever agenda the ruling class finds convenient at the moment.
Chink movies are garbage so we still have the cultural advantage, but it seems their money is dragging our movies down to their level. That said, they're the perfect enemy for globohomo because they are basically yellow Nazis.
DO I SMELL PORK BARREL?
It's supposed to mean not concentrating everything important in New York and San Fran. It's actually a good thing to promote, most of the socialist agitation in the US is because there's immense pressure for young educated people to move to the same few urban centers and then pay thousands a month for a little pod. If that's their experience of "capitalism" can you really blame them for getting radicalised? Plus this concentration destroys birth rates, because the big cities are too crowded for them to even think about having kids, and everywhere else is depressed because of brain drain.

There are no political solutions any longer.

Those who are wise will see that, those who are emotional will only briefly feel a sense of sadness and fear and then pass through the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. America is no longer a nation, but an economy. America is no longer a christian nation, but has within it a christian nation. America is no longer a culturally European nation, but it has still within it some of undiluted European stock. Whether you rally around culture, religion, or race you can still find and meet up with those who share your beliefs.

It may seem futile today, that the decline is months away, or a handful of years at the most. This is not true, you have at least a few decades to correct this issue and while the cost goes up in time this means you can still recover provided the geriatric class of political and journalistic idiocy and waste are physically and legally removed from the public offices. This may seem impossible, given the size of those awake to the horror and a proper measure of sizes of the tasks before you. However you are missing one thing, that fate has given such a movement the time that it must have to grow, for America was not handed down from the clouds and given to the Founding Fathers but grown out of the people themselves.

For if I need to get loyalty, faith, confidence, dedication, and fanaticism then I never looked to the leadership of America. I looked to the places where these virtues can all still be found: the common folks of America. Just remember, I'm actually just quoting Adolf Hitler and America fought and defeated him to make the world today. Enjoy the bed you made America. You deserve every last bit of it!

More like they've been using their money to hold Western movies back so they can catch up. They don't really give a shit about our media but a tiny audience for them is a huge market to leave on the table.

Meanwhile the way they've been teching is nuts. Ten years ago when I first considered using Chinese guys for visual stuff they were a joke. Five years ago they were as good as the in-house dudes I was with and we outsourced a bunch of shit. Today they're downright impressive. Now they have that they can attract what they need in the opposite direction and learn everything else.
You know how k-pop feels like some kind of military science project to evolve international mass appeal at hyper speed? China can do that kind of parallel mutation thing on a far more massive scale. It'll happen fast. Really they could start deploying some rad blockbuster shit everybody loves all of a sudden like tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised.

Then there'll be no reason left not to just fumigate America and get it over with, lol

The question is how good are they at innovation? it seems that besides replication, their actual ability to develop novel technologies or incentives their creation is lagging based on their cultural, educational, and economic systems.

The last one is especially relevant. as much as our billionaires are despised by most people, most people would never advocate taking their money and the state would never target them merely to shut them down. But in the PRC, what exactly is the value for a billionaire or inventor to stay in the PRC if they either have to give the government a cut, or the government can just destroy your life for liking a form of meditation or being too popular and representing a threat to the dear leader?

The government stuff is overblown. I won't go into it much because it's hard to talk about without pissing someone off and fagging up the thread but you have to go out of your way to get on the list, and things that'll get you there are pretty clear-cut. Probably much less of a minefield than trying to do something interesting in Hollywood.
But that's kinda moot because the stuff I'm talking about would be just as synthetic and orchestrated as Disney/Marvel shit to build international perception at first anyway.

As far as innovation, ten years ago talking to people in China they had a definite perception that what Chinese are best at is imitation.
Arguably that's all you need to hit the top of the curve when our crap is getting so stagnant and regressive. But they'll need to go beyond yet another fucking version of Journey to the West or Three Kingdoms at some point. I dunno if the attitude has changed though, thinking of calling one of them this week so maybe I'll ask.

Oh I see, you mean in an entertainment context, and not just in scientific innovation and patents generally. I can see that some of the govt stuff may be overblown, but going after Jack Ma is pretty serious, even if it's relatively rare.

in terms of creativity, their hyper nationalism and strict government censorship is probably a severe hindrance to true creativity. They don't even have the creative license that was seen during the Khruschev Thaw, and if anything, the screws are being progressively tightened. our censorship is purely because one side has monopolized the creative realm, while the other has given up on soft power entirely. I wouldn't be surprised if a truly non woke action movie came out, it would be immensely popular. Hollywood would be well and truly fucked if the Mercers, for example, decided to invest several billion onto their own studio just to make movies focused solely on entertainment and not diversity brownie points

The problem with that is that the infrastructure for funnelling talent is one-sided too. The Daily Wire tries to make movies like "Run, Hide Fight", but you only hear about them because lefty rags make fun of them. Because if you make a non-woke movie studio, the only people you can find to work for you are those who couldn't find work in the more mainstream movie scene and are desperate enough to try their luck with you, and a small handful of people who made it all the way through the schools and the industry but somehow retain right wing ideology.

I can't really judge objectively on every field but I think the focus has been on speedrunning their development in general. Getting that experience in figuring out how to come back and catch up from absolutely nothing so quickly is why they're able to outsource it to Africa; they're experts now. And across the board; judging by how many Chinese papers I surprisingly have to reference when researching something now they seem heavily invested in everything. Where they go from here remains to be seen in terms of innovation, but they needed the knowldge and infrastructure in place first, and it seems to have worked out for Japan and Korea once they worked up to parity.

I dunno about nationalism being a hindrance. They're basically like Americans used to be (maybe still are idk, I only ever go to fucking LA), completely unaware that the outside world exists. Censorship too is pretty specific to certain subjects they're explicit about for the purpose of "national harmony" and unity, and I think mostly about protecting themselves from outside interference since they learned their lesson on that one. We have a skewed perspective on these things because it's nearly 100% of what we and the media focus on when talking about China, but it's a non-subject when you're in the country. I went there expecting some oppressive cartoon moose and squirrel shit atmosphere but you know what? Actually chill as fuck.
