The Endless River -

For the two of you who didn't already know, Pink Floyd will be releasing their first studio album since the criminally underrated Division Bell was released 20 years ago. It was already announced during the summer, but since the track list, cover artwork, and release date were finally announced yesterday, I felt now was the time to post about it.

As far as the music goes, it will largely be based around unused ambient tracks from the Division Bell sessions in 1993/1994 featuring the late Rick Wright on keyboards. All but one of the songs will be instrumental pieces featuring new guitar and drum overdubs from David Gilmour and Nick Mason. The lone vocal track, Louder Than Words, will feature lyrics from Gilmour's wife Polly Samson, who previously penned up the lyrics in Division Bell.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to this album, even if Roger Waters has no involvement in the project. And while I think it's never going to happen, I'd definitely go to see The Endless River Tour if such a thing is staged.
