(If you're new to MrEnter, and you want just one video to explain almost everything about him, just watch this. It's a video review of him whining about an MLP:FiM episode that lead him to a 3-day depression. No srsly.)

The date was 21 February. After the MrEnter thread got a huge influx of posts, Null decided to make a subforum dedicated to him. Reactions were mixed. Those who are in the know about Enter celebrated. Those who are finding new lolcows will be in for a good treat. Some disliked it due to the nature of this subforum.

Of course, this thread is made just to give you the basics on MrEnter, and guidelines that I hope will make this subforum less spergy.

Without further ado, let's begin!
FAQ
Q: Who is MrEnter?
A: Long answer: We're in the year 2015, where we have different varieties of Internet oddities: FNaF fandom, GamerGate drama, Tumblr SJWs and more.

Now, I want you to imagine how it was like in the year 2010 which was half a decade ago. Remember when AVGN and Nostalgia Critic were very popular on YouTube and making angry reviews, with other YouTubers trying to copy their styles? Remember when Viacom was a thing and YouTubers despise how Viacom was taking down copyrighted videos? Remember when there was a huge bunch of OCs on DeviantArt and DeviantArt users having unrealistic expectations that their original series will succeed in the future?

This is basically MrEnter: A lolcow that brings you back to the past. Sure, you can argue that there are still some Internet Nobodies which are like that now, but they are pretty rare to find.

MrEnter is a very popular/notorious YouTuber where all he does is making reviews of children's cartoons. Of course, this may seem normal at first glance, but when you watch his reviews, you can notice about him sperging about anything trivial and how he overanalyses things to the point that you don't even know what he's talking about: Be it sperging about how a Spongebob episode making no sense, how a Fairly OddParents is promoting feminism stereotypes, or how Teen Titans Go! has less continuity compared with the original cartoon. When he's not doing video reviews, he usually focuses on his original series named Growing Around, a shitty webseries which he literally hopes it will get greenlit. There are other more stuff he does (such as Pokemon screencaps which no one cares about except his fans (yes there are fans of MrEnter and for fanboys they are known as Enterbots), some fanfics he made etc..

There was at one point where his YouTube account was being DMCA'd by copyright strikes from FOX and Viacom for having copyrighted content on his vids, which he usually talks about how his vids are "Fair Use". even though he actually makes money by making reviews via Patreon. (As of now when I'm typing this, MrEnter is currently earning $159.35 per review he makes.) It is considered under fair use, but be prepared to hear about this a lot of times like a neverending trainwreck.

UPDATE 1: Another thing worth mentioning is that he claims himself to be asexual, (like how SJWs or loveshies claim) but throughout his reviews he keeps on bitching about love in children's cartoons.

Short Answer, tl;dr version: A YouTube personality who specializes in over-analyzing children's cartoons. (Literally the information about this subforum)

Q: List 10 crazy things MrEnter has done./He just seems to be a typical reviewing YouTuber on the Internet. Anything that makes him different compared with others?
A: Alrighty.

  1. An MLP:FiM episode showing about a pony having a different personality lead him to a 3-day depression.
  2. He once stated that he was worried that SJWs on 4chan and Tumblr will use an episode from "Teen Titans Go!" to promote their feminism propaganda.
  3. He complained about a Spongebob episode being too depressing and how it lacked continuity. What's his suggestion?..... Make the episode less depressing. Yup.
  4. In one of his shitty DeviantArt notebooks, he called one of the Ren & Stimpy episodes as "enemy of everything that is good in the world". Because cartoons are srs bsns. (Btw, Image Google search "Ren Seeks Help" and you'll get a bunch of shitty Notebook pics thanks to MrEnter)
  5. He spent almost an hour in a video just to sperg about Patrick from Spongebob being a sociopath and a monster. No srsly.
  6. Enter hates one of the Spongebob writers, Casey Alexander with a fiery passion. During one of the reviews, he called him as "an idiot" and "a fucking moron" over their different opinions over a Spongebob episode. This lead to his Enterbots attacking Casey on Twitter.
  7. He dislikes people criticising his vids that the cartoons he reviews are "just for kids". He responded with weak arguments such as why people care about him reviewing cartoons for kids (read: there never was except for his fans) and how people who gave criticism about it do not belong on his channel. He also spergs about how children's entertainment has the same quality an adult entertainment has. Just watch this video for the first 3 minutes.
  8. After being discovered by /co/ and lead to his notoriety, he made a 7-minute video about dealing with trolls.
  9. He thinks trolling and cyberbullying on the same thing and he stated in a video, but that's just the beginning as he will delete any comments and block users that explain how they are different. It's so notorious that the comments section called him out on his bullshit.
  10. Having different opinions that cross the line? Well too bad you're getting blocked by him because according to him it's harmful!
There are also more, but here are the ones that I thought up so far.

UPDATE 2: Q: Eh, still he isn't that interesting to me.
A: Well, this is where the fun begins.
You know, at this point I don't even consider Enter a lolcow anymore. I'd say he's a mediocre reviewer.

His fanboys are crazier and more lulzworthy. And his extreme haters are just as lulzworthy. It's the horseshoe effect in action.

This is what I've been saying from day one!

Remember guys, it's not about Enter, it's about the Entersphere.

Wonder why this subforum is called "John Enter & The Entersphere" and NOT just "John Enter"? Well, that's because we are also discussing the drama around him too: be it his insane fanboys such as 03bgood and Nayolfa, and his insane haters too. Think of it as like GamerGate, it isn't about "ethics in video game journalism" much now, it's more about the insane SJWs such as Brianna Wu and the insane supporters such as Homer. The Entersphere is pretty much like this.

And of course, here's a brief summary of the notable members in this Entersphere incident:

  • 03bgood: Probably even more insane than Enter himself. He's a 27-year old manchild who obsesses over game review scores, M-rated games and anything else trivial you can think of. He even once crossdressed too as he wanted to be a girl as to him, girls aren't bullied much compared with boys.
  • Nayolfa: One of the members involved in Enter's project "Growing Around". Has a lot of gross fetishes such as vore.
  • AnimatedJames: Has an insane fart fetish and a strong insane hate for "Teen Titans Go!".
There's also more too, so I'll add more to this list in the future.

So there's pretty much most of the stuff you need to know about Enter. Now time for the guidelines! Please read them before you make any post!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
GUIDELINE IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE KNOW ABOUT MRENTER

Just one simple rule:

Don't respond to a spergy post with even more shitposts. Just negative rate it and report it.
Yes, we get it. Most of the MrEnter posts are pretty spergy. But responding it with shitposts may not make you any better. We had one incident involving one user trying to be funny riling up the Enter posters here with extremely cringey posts, leading to a godawful shitposting drama with sperging from both sides. It's okay to post some Kiwi Farms memes, but if your plan is just to rile up those in the know about MrEnter, you are probably no better than the ones you make fun of.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
GUIDELINES IF YOU ARE IN THE KNOW ABOUT MRENTER

The most important part of this thread which I hope everyone will read. These guidelines actually apply to the rest of the forum, but from my experience in reading this subforum, here are some which I hope users here will follow:

1. Please don't treat this forum as a YouTube Comments Section.
These include, but not limited to:-
  • Unless you're able to elaborate, please don't reply to a post just to post "agreed" or other reaction images that show your reaction to the posts. We had an "Agree" rating for this. Actions speak louder than words. (UPDATE 1: Please try to make your posts to be at least more than one sentence. If your post is shorter than that and it's a reply to someone, you're most likely to be better off giving that user a rating instead of quoting him.)
  • Please ensure your post does not seem like it's posted by pre-teenagers. These include grammar. It's okay to have spelling mistakes, but please read your posts before you submit your post to ensure your post isn't cringey to read by other users.
  • Please don't double post. Just edit your previous post with more info and that's it. One exception is that your two posts contain a huge amount of info that need to be seperated. (UPDATE 1: Another exception is when the time difference between your two posts is pretty long, and you want to bump the thread with some updates. It's okay to do so, but your second post which is bumping the thread better be informative. Also, when we mean by double post, we don't mean accidentally clicking the post button twice, this could be solved by just deleting your repeated post.) (UPDATE 2: So what do I think will be the best time difference? I say at least 24 hours because the thread you're about to bump is probably being swept to the 2nd page of the subforum at this point)
  • UPDATE 2: Please don't post just one reaction image/video in one post and that's it. We're not an imageboard. This has been a problem in other subforums, so I'm gonna put this here: If you want to reply to a post with just a reaction image/vid, DON'T. It only cloggers up discussion and nobody wants to see a thread where most of the posts are just reaction images and videos. The only exception is you can follow up a reaction image/vid with a decent elaboration.
  • UPDATE 2: No dramatic pauses such as "..." in your posts. It's still a problem in this subforum, and despite the rules thread apparently people are still putting dramatic pauses in their posts. It's still shitposting and it only cloggers up discussion. You're not fucking William Shatner.
2. Don't respond to a spergy post with even more shitposts. Just negative rate it and report it.
Self-explanatory. (UPDATE 1: Also, please don't overreport. If there's a post which is too hilarious to be removed, negative ratings are more than enough to laugh at it. Hey, have some sense of humor.)

3. We don't allow discussion of trolling plans....
But however, of course we can't control trolling plans outside this forum. If we find out that a member here has been making extremely stupid trolling plans and embarassing himself in the process, that member will be banned. (UPDATE 1: The best way to deal with lolcows is not dealing with them at all and just watch them. In fact, lolcows make content better when they do it by themselves. For example, Chris last year went on a Sonic Boom rampage and it was not due to trolls.)

4. NO A-LOGGING/REVEALING YOUR POWERLEVEL.

UPDATE 1: Read this article for more.
http://sonichu.com/cwcki/A-Logging

Pretty much the most important guideline. So what is A-Logging? It's based on a user named A-Log who is notorious for being spergy about Chris. There are two types:

a. Revealing your powerlevel, making you even spergier than the lolcow you're posting about himself.

This pretty much originates from A-Log criticising Chris, while at the same time revealing how much of a sperg he is, be it his terrible fanfics, his terrible standup, his cringey interviews at a certain Anime convention (go look it up). Please keep your spergy moments to yourself, if you post about how you're spergy but you're still better in comparison with MrEnter, you're most likely no better than him. Please don't.

Also, if your response to MrEnter overanalysing cartoons is to overanalyse him, you're doing it WRONG.
Do the following instead:
  • Point and laugh at him. Being angry at lolcows aren't worth it. Just point and laugh like what we do.
  • Discuss. There's nothing wrong with discussion, but don't overanalyse him.
  • Getting slightly annoyed. This only applies if Enter does something extremely stupid. And nope, him reviewing your favorite episode is not one of them.
b. Wishing him harm.

Also originated from A-Log, he also wishes Chris harm and in one of his vids, he wants to beat him up. Please don't make posts about how you hate Enter so much and how you want to give him harm. Please don't as they're not worth it and they're low quality posts. Also you're no better than Enter who hates Casey Alexander with an unhealthy obsession if you do so.

UPDATE 1: 5. No Sperging.

So what is sperging, you might ask? Read this link as it helps.
http://sonichu.com/cwcki/CWCki:Sperging

Definition: The most common meaning refers to excessive discussion or analysis of what would normally be regarded as a very specific, irrelevant or pointless topic. Sperging is often used as a negative description of these discussions, as well as the actions of the users who contribute to them.

Example of sperging: (changed from Chris topic to Enter topic, kinda bad but you get the point)

Scenario

    • An Enter review vid is made.
    • A user starts a discussion about the theory on the vid which is pure speculation.

    • e.g. "So I have a theory about why Enter made this video. It's the summer and it's too hot in Enter's house for him to play his PS3, so he decided to..."
    • e.g. "I noticed that Enter sounds so depressed I think this is because his mother stopped washing his clothes to show her disapproval of his new videos.
So why is this bad? If you're sperging about pointless topics, you're most likely to be vulnerable targets to be ones to be made fun of and this only makes discussions less productive. Trust me, it happened before.

UPDATE 1: 6. For God's sake, no weening.

http://sonichu.com/cwcki/Weening

If you're trying to be the next Clyde Cash or Bluespike in trolling Enter, we advise you to please stop and stop embarassing yourself. Nope, we're not doing that because we are jealous, we're doing so to help you not becoming a lolcow. Not to mention that weening might even prevent Enter (or Enterbots) from producing content (it happened to GK, don't let history repeat itself!).

Like the trolling rule, the best way to deal with lolcows is just to sit back and watch. If you really want to interact with them, it's fine, but please don't make a fool out of yourself.

Heads up, I made an update on this thread about weening and sperging. The update is in this blue text so that you don't need to read the whole thing again to know what has changed.

By the way, thanks to Null we had prefixes for this subforum for better organisation. Please use them whenever Enter posted a new update/a new thread about another Enterbot!

If you have any questions, please be sure to post here!

Mods feel free to delete this post if it's out of line or unhelpful.

One of the big things i've noticed as i've started to dig into Enter content is people not considering the age of the Enterbots they are dealing with. The blunt truth is Enter has a young fan base and making threads/posts about 12 year olds more often then not will be of little to no value and make you look like an asshole.

Shitty fan art from some tween generally isn't funny and subjecting them to criticism from a website that's (in theory) 18+ is a pretty dickish thing to do. I would think twice about what you post from anyone you know is a kid.

Yeah I have to agree with this as well.

We had an age limit when it comes to discussing about lolcows here, which is when we discuss lolcows, they must be over 18. (The only exception is that they are very crazy even for a kid, but chances of getting that is very unlikely) We once had an incident with the Cuteyandereneko thread where it's about a 14-year old posting crazy shit on her DeviantArt page. She is very crazy when it comes to her love interests etc. (Such as her having a crush over a Thomas the Tank Engine train, I shit you not) But the thing is she is 14 years old and not some manchild: Teenagers usually do stupid shit on the Internet and it's not funny to make fun of them because they'll most likely grow out of it. And when teenagers do stupid shit and when they grow up, they'll look back to what they're doing and be like "wow, I was a dumbass back then" and learn from their mistakes and not becoming lolcows. Another thing is that when those teenagers get very notorious on the Internet, they're usually targets for trolls and the results are usually unfunny, cringey and embarassing.

We also had a thread about SammyClassicSonicFan too which was once one of the most popular threads, and let's face it: He was indeed hilarious even for a kid. But the problem is since he's a minor, he's becoming a target for unfunny weens/trolls who think it's funny to contact his mom to close his YT account, spam Peach R34 on his new YouTube page and some unfunny ween tried to make a petition just for him to smoke weed. (I read somewhere where he has been doxxed, but I'm not sure) These incidents really get me to become not interested in him anymore. And it's worth mentioning that he actually grew up, pulled himself together and he's actually pretty cool here even with all these unfunny ween bullshit.

And btw, nope, just because we had an age limit, that does not mean we got less Enterbots. We had 03bgood, a very crazy 28-year old manchild who obsesses over game reviews, cartoons and how he wants to be a girl to the point there's photos of him crossdressing. We got Nayolfa, a 19-year old DeviantArtist who is involved in MrEnter's shitty Growing Around project and he's a vorephile. We also got AnimatedJames, a 21-year old animator who hates Teen Titans Go! with a strong passion and has a fart fetish.

We got some good Enterbots, and plus they're over 18 too, and I'm very sure there's some potential in finding more of them. Even if there are a few Enterbots who are over 18, they are usually the better ones since manchildren usually produce better material than typical angsty teenagers. Quality over quantity, please.

This is something I've been thinking about but would the same rules apply to making Admirable Animation topics on the subforum as they do with Animated Atrocities?

I'm not suggesting that every time Enter makes one of those videos that we immediately have some kind of discussion thread about it, but only when Enter does something so stupid in one of the videos that it merits a discussion of its own, like with the April 9th and Troll videos. That would go for any of his other videos that don't fall into the Animated Atrocity series of his and his Writing Tips series too.

I think that would apply too, but once Enter makes an Admirable Animation, I'll suggest Null to make an "Admirable Animation" prefix.

As for only vids which are stupid, I think I'll try the usual "one thread per each update". But however: If the thread shows that it seems that Enter has done really nothing special, I'll merge it with the General threads.

Note on yesterday until today: we had an interesting debacle with NZDrow and the Entersphere Forums. In short, NZDrow sperged out claiming to have pulled a ruse cruise. Whatever, everything can be summed up with this song:

Is "Enterbot" a name invented by Enter fans themselves, or by outside observers? If it's the former, should we use it?

Secondly, there's still too many reaction gifs and videos being posted here. This board has come a long way, but stuff like that will mean it continus to feel like the junior section.
It's a name that was developed here for the most part, not really used by Enter fans or his detractors on other websites. I think it helps get the point across of the people we're referring to though so that's why the name stuck.

I also think that there doesn't need to be as much gifs and vids here either and I've tried to avoid using those myself here. I'm glad that you've noticed the changes that have taken place and I think the guidelines that Alan Pardew has written about here should be updated so that the subforum doesn't get flooded with those gifs IMO.

I saw some people use the term on Deviantart.

Alright, regarding this whole reaction image/vid problem, I got three solutions that I thought up and all three of them have their pros and cons. I put up a poll for this so please vote. Poll will be closed within a week.

1. Completely zero reaction images/vids: Any post with just a reaction image/vid will be deleted.
Only exception is that the post has both the reaction image/vid and some informative stuff. The good thing is that the posts here in the subforum will be of higher quality, but the bad thing is that this will seem to be a "no fun zone", as this will probably be the only subforum in the Kiwi Farms to have the "no reaction images/videos" rule unless Null applies this to the whole forum.

2. Limit reaction images/vids to 3-5 posts per reply to a post.
Beyond that will be deleted as it's more than enough. Problem is that this will seem to be a "Let's post a reaction image/vid as quick as possible!" race instead of a subforum discussing about MrEnter and the Entersphere Drama.

3. No limit to reaction images/vids (or at least only limit reaction images/vids to 1 page)

Self explanatory, but this will deviate away from discussion of course.

Anyway, I'll suggest to Null about this A-Log rating and I'll suggest more prefixes for threads.

I think the approach taken in Disco works pretty well: posts must contribute something to the conversation. Shitposts, posts which should have been ratings ("agree" etc) and posts that are just reaction pics/gifs/vids are deleted. Posts which are jokes about the topic of the thread are allowed, as are posts containing a reaction element but also something of a contribution to the thread: eg "here's some more Tomgirl photos (link). MyEyes.jpg"
