The fetishization of "the youth" and "young people" in politics - Why does it occur so much?

What is it about the opinion or viewpoint of a "young person" or "youth demographic" that inherently makes it "better" or more valuable than the opinion or viewpoint of an "old person" or "elder demographic", especially given the relative lack of life experience?

Kids are dependent super-impressionable idiots. Make them feel like they're both righteous and part of the <good guys>, and you have them on the hook for most likely much (if not most/all) of their lives thereafter..especially if you push to infantilize people well into their flippin' 20s.

The Jesuits (in their time/prime) were quite good at this, if you need an example.

Brand loyalty. Screw them up when they're young and they are less likely to choose "New Politics Coke" down the line because people invariably are arrogant and don't like to believe the crap they got into might be crap.
Make them feel special when their young, indoctrinate them in schools, yadda, decades of blind obedience. Whatever.

They're playing the long game, they want to recruit people into their political cults while they're young, political ideologies are basically generational.

>"Why are all the candidates old geriatric boomers?"

Why the fuck are all the major candidates older than Adam though? They're literally all old enough to have dementia and most of them seem to.
