I decided to start a thread about the recent TV shows based on DC comics, since I didn't see one made yet, although Supergirl and Gotham don't take place in the same universe as The Flash and Arrow, I've decided that they're similar enough to make a thread. Thoughts, predictions, comments related to these shows.

I haven't read very many Green Arrow, or The Flash comics, but I loved Batman, and enjoyed Gotham, especially all the Easter eggs and references they make to the comics.

I'm on Season 3 of Arrow at the moment, and half-way done through Season 1, and I do enjoy how the setting and atmosphere is more gritty in the CW TV shows, I like what they did with The Flash and The Arrow taking place in the same universe as each other, much like Doctor Who and Torchwood.

I hope that Anarky makes an appearance in Arrow, because he has been one of my favorite DC villains, due to his character, and he would be perfect for that show.

I'm probably going to start Season 2 of Gotham either tonight or tomorrow, I haven't seen Supergirl yet, but plan to unless I hear that it's not worth watching.

Yes, I know that this is a double post, but I'm watching season 2 of Gotham.

I noticed that they took a step away from the comics, and one thing I'm confused about is Gordon's relationship with Barbara, I mean they're suppose to get married and have a daughter who's suppose to become Batgirl, but it seems like Barbara is now in Arkham Asylum, so I'm confused how they're going to be married..

I'm just into the first 10 minutes of the first episode of Season 2, so maybe there's something that will happen.

Edit:

I guess it's officially determined with the death of Sarah Essen, that Gotham doesn't fit the continuity of the comics and takes place in it's own universe, I don't know how I feel about it, since the DC universe does give a lot of room to work with.

The actor who plays Jerome, I did like him in Shameless and it is nice to have an backstory for the joker that does fit, other than the one presented in The Killing Joke, where the joker was a failing comedian who turned to crime who fell into a vat of acid and it made him insane somehow. He plays a good young joker.

I know that with the DC universe shows, it's been a bit of a clusterfuck between The CWC shows (Arrow and The Flash) and Gotham, they were going to have Haley Quinn star in Arrow, but couldn't because of copyright issues, for Gotham. That's one thing I don't like, is that both shows are rushing to claim characters to prevent the other shows from claiming them.

Edit2: Well, guess the joker-esque character has died, I don't know how I feel about that, since it doesn't seem to fit as well with the Batman connituity. I half expect that the Lazarus pit is going to play an appearance, and bring back some characters back to life, but as Arrow has already claimed Ras Al-Ghul, then I don't know how it's going to be done.
