  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Looking into some solutions.

From writer/director Guy Ritchie comes THE GENTLEMEN, a star-studded sophisticated action comedy. THE GENTLEMEN follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him (featuring an all-star ensemble cast including Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant).

Guy Ritchie can do no wrong, consider me hyped.

Lock Stock was great, Snatch was great, and Rock n Rolla was forgettable.
I feel the exact same way about those 3. "Rocknrolla" had its moments but it didn't really make it.

I guess marrying to Madonna did a number on him. To me, he is the Brit equivalent of Tarantino, but much much funnier. "Lock, Stock..." and "Snatch" are ones of my all-time favorite movies, I hope he bounces back.

Is there three (four??) Matthew Mcconaughey's on that poster or just two?
Being that we're on KF I'm not sure if you're shitposting or a faceblind autist. You could easily be both.

Good God. There is playing into the troubled artist stereotype and then there's being a straight masochist.

I can't imagine

I hope it's good. Lock Stock was great, Snatch was great, and Rock n Rolla was forgettable. I didn't pay attention after that. Has he done anything else?

His later stuff was more standard Hollywood fare: The RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies, a King Arthur movie, and last year's Aladdin film. The kinda stuff you make when you're a decent enough "name" director, but don't have the clout to get your own projects off the ground. I guess he did enough dues-paying to get someone to fund his own shit, so he got to make this.

Edit: Oh right, and there was also that awful remake of Swept Away starring Madonna, which is best left forgotten.

Wow, I didn't realize he went full shill. I hope this is worth it.

I really loved the King Arthur movie up until he pulled the sword from the stone, that 2nd half felt like watching a youtube summary of a King Arthur series, before that it was like Lock, Stock.... In The Middle Ages. The Gentlemen was ok, the weed angle was silly, and its really fucking obvious that Hugh Grant's role was added in reshoots as a narrative thread. Not as fun as Snatch or Stock either.

Saw it over a month ago. It was awesome. I had never seen a Guy Richie movie before, but I loved it. Great cast, excellent script.

Watched it the other day. Doesn't have the same bite as "Snatch" or "Lock, Stock...", but it was really good. McCounaghey can do no wrong, the chemistry between Grant and Hunnam was amusing.
