I'm at a loss.
So CBS has some show, I guess, called The Good Fight. They had a video in a now deleted tweet.
I thought I was too jaded to be moved by this kind of rhetoric and initially I was. That was, until, I looked up the trailer for it on Youtube. The trailer has 5,203,278 views and only has 148 comments and about 725 ratings. I thought maybe they're deleting anything bad about their show, ala Blizzard, but one check of their social blade you can see that that's not the case. I've seen screenshots of their page before the deletion which shows how there was even less interaction.
So they're clearly bot throttling.
EDIT: There is the possibility that the incredibly high views are from the video being run as an ad on other videos. I have not been able to find a definitive answer on this.
There's this other gem, which is still up at the time of this writing. (archive)
I know we're supposed to post things that are informative and things to laugh at but I just don't feel like laughing anymore. Nothing will happen to them. Nobody will continue to watch the show. They will continue to scam money from advertisers by lying how many views they got on youtube #HYPE. In the end all of this will be swept under the rug once the internet gets sanitized with "approved" content.
I guess, I'll just leave this here for posterity's sake so maybe someday someone can look back and see what things were like before the madness set in.
Stay safe.
Stay warm farmers.
EDIT: It was pointed out to me that The Good Fight is a CBS All Access show. For the unaware, CBS All Access is their made in the Philippines version of a poor man's Netflix. Where Netflix gives you a variety of content, CBS All Access just gives you CBS stuff that wouldn't pass snuff to make it to actual air. This means that there shouldn't be much to any advertisement money like on a regular broadcast show. It's mainly subsidized by subscription fees. How any of this is still being kept afloat is for a smarter sped than me to figure out.
