Yeah, I know there were more recent releases of the old games but in my opinion smoothing out all the character portraits so there’s no pixelation removes a lot of the charm of the original GBA/DS games, I’d rather emulate the DS ones.

Smoothing out what was once pixel art is a pet peeve of mine, same with some of those 2D Final Fantasy remakes for another example, it just looks weird to me, maybe that’s gonna seem either weird or make perfect sense but that’s just how I feel.

But that shouldn’t be a problem with this game since it originates from 2015.

They just decided not to localise spinoffs after Investigations 1.

I do wonder if the translation is gonna be "Eat your hamburgers Apollo"-tier and how they gonna treat the in-game racism against the japanese.

Glad for that, this is probably the easiest to translate location-wise because of the time period but for the racism angle they're still keeping it by the looks of it

I thought it was dumb also but after hearing about the specifics I find it very funny. Basically, Herlock Sholmes & Wilson are in fact someone else's thinly-veiled Sherlock & Watson renames, which Capcom is most likely using because these specific renames are, legally, completely separate characters. This means the Doyle estate can't go after them for this game whatsoever, as they are technically not using any creations of Doyle's, and ALL of the novels Sholmes & Wilson appeared in (a few books in the Arsene Lupin series) are in the Public Domain.
