I thought it was dumb also but after hearing about the specifics I find it very funny. Basically, Herlock Sholmes & Wilson are in fact someone else's thinly-veiled Sherlock & Watson renames, which Capcom is most likely using because these specific renames are, legally, completely separate characters. This means the Doyle estate can't go after them for this game whatsoever, as they are technically not using any creations of Doyle's, and ALL of the novels Sholmes & Wilson appeared in (a few books in the Arsene Lupin series) are in the Public Domain.

I actually feel better knowing that it's someone else's lame copyright workaround and not Capcom's. I mean, I still feel it's kinda lazy, but being a reference in and of itself is interesting.

Should I buy physical or just wait for the bundle? I have a working 3DS and have every game except Apollo Justice. Physical would be fantastic but if its cheaper to get the bundle....idk idk decisions decisions.

Edit: I'm seeing that tbe Japan have a physical copy of the trilogy. Apparently it will work on an American switch with full English. Legit? Or mistranslations?

Japanese version does have indeed the english text & voice available as an option according to the japanese trailer



The japanese LEs have a cool tea box, a schoolbag, a special drama CD, two amulets and 3 illustrated mini-cards. Most expensive option includes the Ace Attorney trilogy previously released.

It depends if you personally consider the japanese physical to be worth the price to import (with the eventual custom fees especially if you live in Europe specifically) over digital. I find physicals to be heavily overrated these days due of how modern games work in general with the abundance of patches & dlcs (since debates generally stem around the matter of long-term use) but if you really want a physical, I mean sure why not.

Depends of the games to be fair. But I still understand people wanting physicals just so they don't have to deal with the (sometimes huge) initial data space required on the microsd too.

Dude, this series is basically a Choose Your Own Adventure book. The games are even nice enough to send you back to your last choice (with a full health bar) if you fail. All you have to do is keep trying every option until you reach the one that works. I can't see why this would require a walkthru.

doubt it, investigations is niche game in the series that was sold and received pretty poorly, and it is tied too much to nds. Considering their second director has resigned from the mainline, I doubt they even think about investigations.
