Imma start this off by saying I don't really understand the appeal of neopets. If that's your thing whatever, but it's not for me. But today I have a new found respect for any current neopets user who is currently participating in the absolute madness that is taking place over there.

In a nutshell, this is what happened: Neopets got bought by a company called Jumpstart .

Jumpstart has no idea how to run a website so last week they fired ALL the mods/ admins / supervisors and just put up a new word filter and figured that would do the trick.

So naturally, the word filter doesn't work at all. And then yesterday thousands of neopets users woke up to this:

There are no mods, no filters, and anything goes. It is glorious chaos.

So join the fun if you want! Sign up, name your pet dickslutMcbutt. There's literally nothing to stop you. Just try not to offend the easily triggered long time users.

Jumpstart is a children's media company that makes those "jumpstart 4th grade!" games that were so popular back in the day. Ironically, they wanted to make neopets more educational.

I used to play Neopets back in the day when it was actually fun, but then you began to get the exclusive pets and stuff and then the cashshop things and Nope, it just got retarded. The site is long overdue for the grave and this is probably be most hilarious way to put it to rest.

There was always one back then that cracked me up, the pet was called ONE_LATEX_CONDOM. This was back when they banned everything like that but the user was so prolific I guess they thought they shouldn't get rid of them. Maybe they eventually did but I saw them everywhere.
