The "I shouldn't be here" Thread (Procrastination) -

What should/could you be doing besides browsing this forum? What are you procrastinating on?

I should be writing an essay about this bad boy:

It's about as convoluted as it sounds. But I made this thread because I was inspired by the lack of inspiration I have to sally forth. I'm about 2/3 there, though.

Right now I need to go to bed so I get up early enough to go to my Toastmasters meeting at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. I'm the sergeant-at-arms, which means I set up the room in the morning. Last week I was late, which meant the meeting started late

The only other thing I have to do is my pharmacy tech coursework. I also set a goal of studying Spanish (I'm trying to get through "Spanish for reading" by the end of the year and right now I'm on chapter 10 of 15), exercise (because I don't want to weigh a grand number of pounds anymore) and reading (I'm reading "The Penguin History of Canada"; "Empire of the Summer Moon (about the Comanches) and Hemingway's "For whom the bell tolls").

But yeah, when I start having dreams about this place, I realize I have to spend less time on here.

At this time of the morning I'm mostly standing around making sure the furniture doesn't spontainiously gain life and walk out of the building. So I guess browsing the forum is the most important thing I'm doing right now?

I should study Spanish grammar more for my Spanish classes. But subjunctive tense isn't fun at all. :x

I should also fill out job applications because I feel my current job is a dead-end one meant for giving high schoolers job experience. And I'm not a high schooler anymore! (thank goodness!)

Are you in Intermediate Spanish? I took Intermediate I in the spring. It was one of my favorite classes ever, and I'm thinking about going back for a Spanish degree if it's possible.

I should also fill out job applications because I feel my current job is a dead-end one meant for giving high schoolers job experience. And I'm not a high schooler anymore! (thank goodness!)

Unfortunately those jobs are common and relatively easy to get, so anyone without skills is likely to stay in that sort of position for some time. I'm training for a job that takes a year to train for and I'm a college graduate. The economy just sucks right now. However, I'd like to train to be a Spanish teacher if I can, and that job is expected to increase 13% in the next few years.

The name of my class is "Advanced Spanish Grammar and Composition." I suppose after studying Spanish for so long you learn about all the tenses, so then you just need to constantly practice and master them??

But complications from my mental illnesses have been interfering with my coursework and delaying my graduation. So I'm like in the limbo between undergraduate and post-graduate, and I feel dissatisfied with unskilled labor even if I'm only qualified to do that much.

I had to take a year off for mental health reasons, so yeah, I know how that feels. It sucks.

Yep! My major was originally Spanish before I got bored with it and changed it to Environmental Studies. But I was already pretty close to getting a minor in it, so might as well have that work count for something?

Any time I'm here, assume I should be doing something else. For instance, I should be going over my presentation on Heydrich that's due today. I should also be planning a grand Communist takeover of the world, but I can do that tomorrow.
