Given Jay's problems, I would probably say his father is more embarrassed. I mean, he's a screechy, lazy sperg who refuses to hold down a job because apparently he didn't realize you actually had to work. I'd be pretty embarrassed too, if Jay was my son. As for his mother... I would guess it's like Barb and some moms: their child is a special snowflake that can do no wrong.

With the last one, from what we've seen Jay has a difficult time -- if not the inability -- to let things go. He still hasn't gotten over Heather even though it's obvious she isn't coming back to him. Jay himself has a major case of unwarranted self-importance, so obviously what is a stupidly trivial slight to most people is akin to a major offense in Jay's eyes. A combination of the two means an unhealthy grudge for god knows how long. Years in this case.

I'd be interested to see what his mother has to say about him. He mentioned on the stream that his mother was in the other room and theres no doubt she could here everything he said. He also hinted at her possibly knowing about his sexual interests because he yells them out shamelessly (or he just told her). I'd love to know what kind of opinions she has of him and to see whether she avoids the truth about her son or just accepts it and is nice to him because she doesn't want to fight with him. Then again she'd probably pretend everything is fine and TGK is perfect to keep up appearances.

It probably depresses the dad considering that was the son that he liked to spend time with. I'm sure to that GK is probably receiving even more attention from Mommy though, now that he is all that's left. It also goes to show that it wasn't entirely genetics or nurture that turned GK into what he is and that he shares the responsibility.
