I can't say I've seen a character take off a shirt...because there aren't many games where such a scene would actually be necessary.

Not to mention there's no way to know there's no clipping going on - we only see the back. It's like that bit from the Simpsons where a shirtless Homer stands in front of Marge looking like he's lost his beer gut, etc, but then the view switches to behind him and it's all grotesquely bunched up with clothespins and whatever on his back just out of sight.

TBF apparently getting fabric to work properly when it comes to removing clothes is actually pretty difficult. The only other game I can think of that has a character get undressed is Heavy Rain and the clothing looked very stiff, though that was over a decade ago. I think if there's ever a need for a character to take their clothes off, they just have them walk off-screen or cut away to something else so they don't have to animate it. But obviously we are only seeing it from the back. There was no visible clipping in the Abby sex scene when it was viewed as intended but in that alternate angle video posted a while ago you could see Abby's model clipping through the table.

I know we're all about shitting on TLOU and Naughty Dog but it's hard to deny that their games are visually and technically impressive. Too bad that doesn't apply to the story, characters, or gameplay.

I don't know know if this comparison video of Balan Wonderworld, to The Last of Us 2, is either funny, or sad:

And to think that one of the worst platformer games to have come out in recent times, would be better than Neil Druckmann's 200+ award "Masterpiece". I'm also waiting on the inevitable TLOU2 stan counter-video about how TLOU2 is so much better than Balan Wonderworld.

Dude, Balan had good intentions, it's just the execution that was fucked all over. It felt like a game stuck in the dreamcast era in terms of game design with almost nothing else to offer. But still, the intention was good to me. Hell, it was no mighty number 9 either, maybe its flaws can be fixed with a sequel.

The last of us part 2 had no good intentions nor solution...

At least Balan isn't miserable. It's funny seeing tlou2 loose future awards like dice and bafta. Idk it's just that i was one of those people that looked forward to see where the story went from the first. I actually loved the melee takedowns, but still the characters deserve a better story.

The other sad part about the whole Balan deal is that because of how poorly that game sold, it's unlikely that it can be saved with either a massive patch, or some sort of remake game to it. Meanwhile, the TLOU2 stans are still holding onto the "BUT TLOU2 sold 4 million copies!" deal, plus given the rumors of a TLOU1 remake in the works, and how Neil Druckmann already has a TLOU3 story in mind...

because there's usually no point, why spend several days carefully animating fabric, worst case by hand, for one scene? unless your game features an often used undress mechanic, that's just wasted budget (not surprised they had to crunch so hard). that's why most devs opt for the more sensible off-screen approach, if they don't set the scene differently in the first place - like walking in on someone showering/coming out of the shower, while getting examined by a doctor etc. when the whole point is just to show someone "omg scars/wounds".
animating sex scenes is usually easy too since most of it is standard fare mocap, the rest that would cause issues with clipping is usually not shown unless you want your game get the adult only rating.

Going to be honest, since we're seeing the shirt being taken off from behind, they probably left the front to fuckall, it probably clips through like a motherfucker.

There's a ton of shit you can cut corners on, take a look at games like Xenoblade where they use forced perspective all the time. TLOU2 probably has a ton of shit untouched from outside the camera's view during the cinematic scenes.

IIRC Druckman bragged about hiring Hollywood VFX people, which would mean shit like fabric and small environmental details are usually their forte. Most VFX stuff you usually don't see like snow getting digitally removed. You don't just have VFX people around for big set piece moments.

I think a reboot could work. It'll just mean druckmann will have to go and the woke shit dies out and abby is written out of existence. I think it's possible, i just think It'll be time when Druckmann is gone.
Nah, man, it won't get rebooted until it's spent a good fifteen or twenty years in the memory hole to fester age.

Naughty Dog has already started to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the game. Meanwhile, it's still crickets in regards to the actual sales of the game after the "BUT IT SOLD 4 MILLIONS COPIES IN ONE DAY" deal, and no word about Multiplayer/Factions either. Granted, ND has been hiring people for an upcoming standalone multiplayer game, although they haven't said what it will be yet, despite it being a hint towards Factions being released.

Also apparently, a $200 Abby statue is a thing.

Meanwhile, Jap companies routinely produce fapbait figurines at better quality and more reasonable costs (shipping included), and don't despise their fanbases.

Dear God, I cannot imagine a single person buying this statue. I absolutely hated Abby and most other original TLOU fans did as well. I can only think of deranged lesbians buying it.

Not to mention that there are male Abby Stans out there, i.e. mrgirl (I think, he said that TLOU2 was a great game), although I'm not sure if he personally would buy one.
