I've been looking around this place for a thread on this subject, and didn't find any so I thought I'd take a chance and post a
thread on it since it's so obviously cringe worthy. For those who haven't seen the show "The Midnight Gospel"; it's a show
on netflix (Big surprise), about this character named Clancy Gilroy a kind of youtuber or vlogger or some shit like that who
goes to "simulations"/alternate universes (they're called simulations in the show), and basically interviews one person or
alien or whatever there about a topic totally unrelated to the situation happening. They talk about this for half an hour,
basically babbling endlessly about almost nothing- and then he goes back to upload it to his youtube channel and- that's it.
I will also add this show was from the same guy who did Adventure Time... so you know where this is going.
It's basically a podcast that has been adapted to a animated netflix tv show that has nothing to do with what is going on at
hand. The first episode is about an alternate earth that has been taken over by zombies and Clancy goes there an interviews
"The President". He talks about drugs and other philosophical crap, ignoring the zombie pandemic and at the end they die
and get eaten by zombies. There I saved you a half an hour so you can do something better with your time, like masturbating.
I'm sure you guys are thinking "big deal it sounds like a Rick and Morty ripoff", while that is true, somewhat... (Rick and
Morty is at least somewhat funny and doesn't take itself nearly as seriously IMO) . But what really pisses me off isn't that
this is pretentious crap. It's not that it's another cut and paste show from Netflix, it's that everyone who watches and has
posted about this show... is talking about how DEEP it is. How much this show will change your life, etc. The reviews are
mostly in favor of this show and why I have no idea. I guess they're too afraid to pan it because everyone loves pretentious
shit on netflix.
Oh my god, they're talking about drug politics, oh my god, the guy in the prison found out it's bad to treat other people badly....
This isn't deep stuff, this is shit people should realize at the age of 14. And to say that EVERYONE loves this show... this show
which is basally pretentious garbage... Don't take my word for it Go watch it yourself and see how long you last.
Here is a trailer of the show, don't be fooled by the trippy colors, and the fact it may actually be interesting. Above all that
glamour is a show about as deep as a kiddie pool.
