The movie Predator 2 was cut over 20 times, because it was too violent - This is the only cut footage I was able to find

I used to think Predator 2 was disappointing because of lack of Arnold Schwarzenegger but now that I've seen it numerous times on late night cable, I can appreciate it on its own merits. It's less "cinematic" than the first one due to most of the film being shot "tight" in urban environments. However, the benefit of setting it in the city is that the claustrophobia adds to the atmosphere.

It originally got an NC-17 rating until it was cut down. I'm surprised Fox hasn't re-released it uncut to get those scheckles.

The only gore shot that I know for sure was cut was the death of Bill Paxton (RIP)'s character. Originally we were supposed to see the Predator rip his head off while he was still alive.

The other gore shot that I think was cut was the one where Gary Busey is killed by the disc. Faggot's keep pointing out "Where did the upper half of his body go? 0/10 movie!" Well, ask the MPAA.

I never understood why King Willy was a voodoo priest. I thought Voodoo was a Haitian thing, and Jamaicans were Rasta.

Jamaicans do practice voodoo and there were Jamaican street gangs back in Kentucky I think.

Plus that scene was so fucking badass. I've seen Predator 1 and 2 at least 100 times a piece and right now I have to re-watch the King Willy scene.

Yeah Predator 2 is pretty fun. I'd love to watch a more violent version.

Story reminded me a lot of the early Dark Horse Predator comic with Dutch's brother.

Bad Blood is another good Predator comic. The story makes no sense but the art is wild and it's gory as fuck. Plus it has a cool idea of a Predator fighting another Predator that Predators and it looks like the new Predator flick exploits.

Kind of reminds me of the edits made to "Event Horizon".

Talk about torture porn.

I hate Event Horizon but I'd give an uncut version a 2nd chance. Supposedly the uncut VHS was found a few years ago but so far nothing has been done with it. You could remaster a VHS copy and it would look decent enough so I don't know why Paul W. S. Anderson is just sitting on it.

There's supposed to be a few changes present in the novelisation that were in the early draft / cut of the film.
Gary Busey didn't die, he doesn't even enter the slaughter house, Danny glovers final dialogue as between them.
The king Willie scene was different with Willie actually luring the predator towards him them pulling a compact shot to try and off him last second.
There were additional scenes with Tony "hardcore" pope and an exposition bit of them explaning why Vegas mistress didn't get killed.
Couple of extended scenes of the predator in a porn shop and stalking Danny glover around town.

Apparently the producers did this because they figured audiences wouldn't know what Rastas are so they insisted they practice voodoo.

Also, Gary Busey's character was originally supposed to be Dutch but Arnie didn't like the idea.

I remember the sorta sequel novel i read (I think it was called Concrete Jungle but was unrelated to the game) with Dutch policeman brother and his friend who's also a cop dealing with Predators coming up to New York during a heatwave

Incorrect. Concrete Jungle came before Predator 2. I think it came out either 88 or maybe 89.

Fun fact: the producers of Predator showed Fox executives the sales numbers of the Predator comic books to convince Fox to green light a sequel. They also blatantly stole or "homaged" elements from Concrete Jungle like the city setting, a scene where the Predator kills people in a subway car, the Predator chasing a cop, and even the line "Want some candy?" Is from the comic but phrased as "Give him some candy!"
