The Mysterious Mr. Enter / Jonathan Rozanski's "Growing Around" - IndieGoGo Campaign Failed, John going off the deep end

IMO: John isn't interested in writing a good show with memorable characters and developed plots.
He's interested in writing revenge porn against all the adults he feels wronged him when he was a kid, and in being validated in the process.
I honestly think a big part is he's after the fame and adulation without any of the work. He thinks he can fart out scripts on DeviantArt and overnight become the next Butch Hartman or Steve Hillenburg.

That begs the question: if he’s gonna do a world where adults are put into the roles of kids, why aren’t things that are normally for kids in the real world themed after things that adults would like?

If Enter had any interesting ideas for that (at the top of my head, I can imagine an Ice Cream Truck that gives out coffee/adult beverages, or a school cafeteria designed to resemble a fancy restaurant) it would make the presence of the adults feel more prominent in the world, and show that there’s more to their existence than having children and serving under their rule.

Like I (and possibly others have said before), this world ignores its very premise of being a role reversal by being just a power fantasy for kids to fuck with their parents.
"Begs the question" does not mean "raises the question".

He did propose an episode where the kids produce a TV show that panders desperately to adults (as a satire of shows that pander desperately to children,) but I don't think he ever finished a script for it. I guess he doesn't like the idea of treating GA's adults with any modicum of respect, even if it's just giving them what they want as a treat or something. Shame on those silly adults for not acting exactly like the children when they have no real aspiration or justification to do so.

This. Enter is using GA as Chris uses Sonichu as a way to vent his frustration with the world. I genuinely think that deep down, he's not serious about making Growing around a real thing, and rather uses it as a escape from reality in the same way Chris escaped to CWCville. (the fact he won't approach a network is a pretty big clue he does not see this as a actual profession.) He won't admit this to the few remaining enterbots about this fact, because if he does they will stop paying him once the know the truth, but he has to or he will end up like spoony, who is on his way to becoming homeless or dead in a couple of years. (possibly the latter, but that's another story.)

I feel like the fact its so short was it's biggest problem. the theme's and deconstruction are very simple compared to other urobuchi works (psycho pass, fate/zero), and even in the same "Demographic" (young girl's) you had stuff like Utena, who was created by the guy who did the anime for SAILOR MOON. (and Utena wasn't necessarily focused on magical girl tropes:you had subversion of Shojo, Shonen, and Even fairy tale tropes.)
Hard disagree. Madoka is very focused and concise. It doesn't waste your time, and as such, it's able to say a lot with very little. I actually find Fate/Zero to be one of Urobuchi's weaker works. Partly because the events of the story weren't actually written by him, so he was kind of restricted by that while writing. It's still the best Fate anime though, lol. Well, unless you want to go to jail by watching Fate/Kaleid.

Does anyone know when the Cute Camp-related scripts were first posted, namely before or after the IGG campaign? Those scripts were right about when Enter dropped even the remote pretense of it possibly being an actual show concept and just went full-on torture-porn.

It was after the IndieGoGo. The crossdressing also ramped up after the IGG failed.

Funny how Enter likes to exaggerate the aspects of GA that others give him shit/criticism for, like the inclusion of cross-dressing or adult slavery. It’s one thing to ignore criticism, but to actively do things that he knows people have a genuine issue with says a lot about his attitude towards working on his stuff. By acting out of petty spite, he’s only making himself look even shittier.

Also working on GA gives him an excuse to avoid admitting he's a NEET. He's not unemployed, he's an aspiring producer and showrunner.

One fundamental difference between KND and Growing Around that I think hasn't been brought up is that one of KND's core messages about adulthood is that it is not necessarily opposed to childhood. The eventuality of growing up in such a fantastic world revolving around how cool it is to be a kid is mitigated by the fact you can mature from being one rather than distancing yourself entirely from that period of your life. I don't think there's a message like that in GA, or at least Enter sucks at trying to convey it.

What's funny about this is that in an episode that is questionably non-canon (though it could just be a comedic final gag that appears to imply everything the episode said is true but in reality isn't, given the first adult who raises their spanking hand against the child proletariat is Father...who also happens to eventually turn out to be Numbah One's paternal uncle near the end of the series) pretty much is Growing Around. Its the one about the origin of Adults as the result of kids getting bored with a kid-perfect paradise.

.

However, even here, with a far stronger reason for 'kid first' society than Enter's bullshit about kids somehow taking out a T-Rex by beating it to death with a rock inside a cave, the adults ultimately rebel, then go start their own society called Cleveland, then succeed in kicking the kids off Earth, before leading to the two sides reconciling and forming family units...and then Numbah One accuses adults of creating the school system to go full blown revisionist history and saying that modern life was always how things had been and basically becomes a parody of raving conspiracy theorists ala 'the moon landing was faked'.

Say what you want about Chris. but when he thought he was talking to Miyamto or others, he seemed like he actually wanted Sonichu to get picked up (Despite not putting effort in). You could tell he was disappointed when it didn't happen, whereas with Enter, if a similar thing happened, he doesn't seem like he'd give a damn

Hey Danganronpa Kiwis, you might find this interesting.
Enter at 23:44 in that stream said:
Have you played Danganronpa? Yes, all 3 video games.
Also his worst character of the series is "the cosplayer from V3" (44:05), who I am assuming is Tsumugi Shirogane, whoever that is.
Honestly there's not much here. Minimal word on reviews, still hating lockdowns, wanting schools to re-open, etc.

Had a feeling Enter would call her the worst student. He probably would've gone off on a rant if he were less concerned about spoiling the game.

Enter REALLY hated the twist ending of Danganronpa V3 for retconning everyone's backstory and the entire lore of the franchise into a digital fabrication, and Tsumugi Shirogane was the all-knowing mastermind who, the moment this truth was exposed, railed on the rest of the cast for DARING to take their pointless lives seriously.

Whether or not Enter understands the point of this ending, he still hates Tsumugi for her intense philosophy of "Fiction never mattered, and it never will. Your passion is meaningless."

This happened during his latest pity party stream. He started to read the question then as soon as he got to the part about brushing his teeth he cut himself off and said "No I dont read it, theyre all losers." That was kind of funny. But if it was one of you guys dont give him money, its not worth it.

Stream in general was exactly the same as the last few he's done. More covid sperging. Its like hes stuck in a timeloop. Also we're going on, what now, 2 months to finish half of a top 10 commercials list?

Just make a dummy account and like cancel the payment or something.

I remember people used to do it with streamers, sending them absurb 10K donations and just cancelling.
