That kind of logic makes sense when you're talking about ethnicity, not when you're talking about adherents to a religion.I’m not “sticking my neck out for Islam”. As I’ve said multiple times I think Islam (the religion) is awful and the world would be better off without it. I just think it’s bullshit to assume that 1.8 billion people, and, more pertinently, 3.45 million Americans are somehow evil because they follow a shitty religion.
Their holy book literally dictates their lives and not only condones but advocates and even demands for these attitudes, and as keeps being needed to be pointed out, there's never been a muslim reformation, and any actual attempt to do so (that isn't just taqqiya) would be met with the same charge as apostasy - death. Which would mean, as said above, that they're following the religion to the letter as would a muslim from 700 A.D. If pointing out that fact is what you'd call me saying they're evil I think you might need to think a bit on that position, and why it's so funny to me that you'd phrase it as such.
