It’s okay, we’ll go to an 18 game season, add one more playoff team for each conference, get back to two bye seeds each and get closer and closer to the NBA, NHL or MLB where if you’re still awake you get in the postseason and regular season games are just gambling as opposed to meaning something. Maybe we can add a draft lottery while we’re at it.

There was nothing wrong with the original wild card playoff format. This is just pure, unadulterated greed on the behalf of both the NFL and the networks.

This is not an original take, but I intensely dislike the bowl names and despise stadiums named after things that are not the team which plays there or relating to the region it is located.

With regards to the 7th seed, it serves the purpose of adding more playoff stakes for a larger variety of teams who otherwise would've been eliminated weeks before. Had the Colts not choked or The Chargers being able to stop a run and get a tie, then the Steelers wouldn't have ever gotten in and we might've gotten a better game against the Chiefs.

I do agree that the previous playoff format was fine and it was a result of greed and as long as it makes money, then it'll stay. It would have to be years of the 7th seed constantly getting blown-out before the NFL does anything and even then, all it takes is one 7th team to win for the NFL to go "see, anything can happen!"

And I thought the whining when the Seahawks won the NFC West with a 7-9 record, and the Panthers winning the NFC South with a 7-8-1 record in another year, to both make it to the playoffs, while other teams with better records didn't, was bad. This Steelers and Eagles situation is on it's own level of dumpster fire.

And at least the Seahawks and Panthers both at least won their first playoff game, with the Seahawks taking down the Defending Champion Saints, and Beastmode happening in that game.
