This was a good one too:“Grandpa didn’t you wonder why you were getting money for doing absolutely nothing?”
“I thought it was because the democrats were in power again”
I miss the days when people could laugh at themselves once in awhile

Yep, I loved that! This was a good one too:
I mean it was fine since the Simpsons was a satire on American culture and having political takes isn't too bad as long as they are still funny jokes that have some punch to them. The issue with modern Simpsons is that everything is exaggerated and characters are less reacting to things as they naturally would but more of being mouthpieces for the writer. Lisa especially who is treated as this super smart girl who knows no wrong yet back in the good Simpsons era she was treated like a normal kid.Remember when Lisa thought it was cool to have George Bush living across the street (even if she wouldn't have voted for him)? Imagine what a current year episode would be like if a former Republican president moved to the neighbourhood. Lisa, as well as all the "good" characters in the show would be protesting outside his house demanding he move, and they would have been painted as the "good guys".
Also, he wouldn't have been depicted likeable and level-headed at all.
That's not to say classic Simpsons didn't inject bias to the point of looking like a parody though. I forget the episode but Homer and Lisa are watching FOX news and they're painting liberals as evil and stupid... and then the very next scene, it cuts to a scene where Republicans are depicted as evil supervillains. It was so ridiculous that you'd swear they knew exactly what they were doing.
the one where they go to Japan
I noticed that when Homer and Bart are speaking Japanese at each other even though it's translated as "foreign devils" he says the much more polite "gaikokujin"
edit-
after that the one with Mel Gibson where he talks about speeding all the time and not having trouble with the cops
that one aged interestingly
Well the Wayback Machine might have archived some of their older essays.Dead Homer Society is dead.
I can't say that I agreed with their rather extreme stance, but I enjoyed reading their caustic essays from time to time.
That was an early zombie-era episode, since I know what you're talking about. I believe it was a 2000's episode about Krusty running for congress or something. Keep in mind that FOX News is a fairly recent channel (compared to CNN), so it wasn't a classic Simpsons episode. That's not to say classic Simpsons didn't inject bias to the point of looking like a parody though. Crusty Homer: Virtual Fart! I hated the tomato level, could never got to the end of this game.
