So the second season just dropped. If anyone was afraid that this was 'going woke', you have Frank beating the everliving fuck out of female criminals, treating them the same as the dudes. I expect we'll get a thousand articles about how Frank should have just let the women kill him instead of just beating the ever-loving shit out of them and brutally murdering them, like he does everyone else.

Frank Castle is a man of true equality. If you come at him, he'll beat your ass the same as everyone else. And then murder you violently.

I can’t wait to binge the second season this weekend. The first season was great. My only nitpick, and it’s a small one, is that Jigsaw’s face isn’t nearly as fucked up as I thought it would be.

Yeah, I got a new TV for Christmas so I can't wait to watch it on that. But I'm too huge a Punisher fan to not. As for Jigsaw, they said they're more going with the psychological angle of traumatic brain injury and that his memory and personality are all fucked up and he's trying to put the pieces together like a Jigsaw puzzle. That's what they said in an interview. So its more of massive mental trauma than facial.

I just finished the first episode and I realized that we've never really seen a male protagonist beat female antagonists as brutally before. It was honestly a 'whoa' moment when Frank full on just fucking punched a woman in the face who was trying to knife him. I have to say, in this climate that is super ballsy and much appreciated. It shows they get the character and he's not going to fuck around with politeness when you're trying to stab him in the face.

I mean, it makes sense. You're not going to be chivalrous if a woman is trying to kill you. And that's really true equality, ironically. None of this half-assed shit. I think the only other series I can remember doing this was John Wick when he was beating the ever-living shit out of Ruby Rose.

I know people were upset they went with the Christian Cultist angle, but it doesn't seem like they compromised.

I just personally thought they would go with the physical angle, as well as psychological, with Jigsaw. They continuously made it a point to show viewers how fucking vain and narcissistic he was. Regardless, should be great.

Oh, in the comics I know. He basically slams around a female human trafficker that permitted rape and murdered children and fucking slammed her into plate glass windows until she was dead. Normally he would straight up shoot her, but he hated them so much that's what he did. Its refreshing to see a show respect its material.

I like all the little details too. When he's in a knife fight, he wraps a belt around his arm since he doesn't have a weapon and uses it to block knife strikes because its so thick. Other shows don't even bother.

The first season was a bit of a mixed bag for me: the highs were high and the heart was in the right place for most of the time but before the last three episodes there was too much unnecessary fat they could have trimmed down and make a better season

It's some of the hypest shit you will ever watch on Netflix and it's a fucking crime that it will probably be cancelled after this season. And when I say "crime" I mean, on the same par as The Critic being cancelled. That level of crime.
