The Sims 3 is installed and fully compatible, I don't have an approximate date for the start of the live stream, but my headset should arrive on the 15th, so it will be after then.
I want to create the Sims ahead of time to limit the amount of time I'm spending in Create a Sim because that part of the game feels tedious, so If anyone has Sims 3 package files of any Sims that they want in the game then feel free to send it to me.
In other words I'll be meeting with people who wish for their Sims to be in the game before the stream next week if they wish to create a Sim before the stream (I'll probably see if there's a way where I can stream for a single person.)
