EA/Maxis has really steped in it this time. Apparently as part of their attempt at overhauling traits they made it so that Sims with the Hates Children trait will now always refuse the "try for baby" interaction unless they are currently in the "Dazed" emotion.
Commen ways for a sim to become dazed include lossing a fight, alcohol consumption, or taking medican when not sick.
So according to EA/Maxis, dog houses are abusive, burglars are triggering, and not having a 1 to 10 ratio of white to POC representation is the worst travesty in the world but actual rape is just fine and dandy.

The funny thing is that this was intentional, and managed to slip through multiple layers of internal bureaucracy.
And it didn't take long for the community to react negatively to the change, and The Sims Team responded that the aforementioned change to the Hates Children trait will be removed in the next patch. It really makes you wonder what kind of shit The Sims Team smoked to put out that kind of change to the game.
Also, this interview with Laura Miele, EA’s Chief Studio Officer, further implies that The Sims 5 will be an online game. It fits well with the "if at first you don't succeed with making an online Sims game, then try again and fail, and repeat", EA's vision of the franchise.

I really wish I could say I'm relieved they're getting rid of this "feature" but to be honest with myself I know the only reason they're doing it is because they've been called out. They had plenty of time to stop themselves before that change went live.

Catharina Lavers Mallet was announced as Maxis's new General Manager, to work on The Sims series. Some things that stand out about this announcement is that she previously worked on The Sims Social (a big red flag), and this particular quote from EA VP Samantha Ryan:

This person didn't even include any of the real disturbing stuff the modding community makes. They really picked the softball stuff, I guess to play it safe and not risk demonetization.

So I guess what this really means is they don't have or refuse to fork out enough money to make a new game engine so instead they're just going to keep piling onto one that's already strained to compacity. Grant's threat about no TS5 if 4 doen't sell well is starting to take on a new perception, he wasn't saying they would punish fans by ending the series, but that they would keep torturing them for eternally by shoving hollow barely playable add ons into their games until long after the engine crashes under its own weight. Don't you see guy's it's genues, the perfect way to make the players reap their reward for being unhappy with our minamal effort.

my game is so woke it generates ugly sim girls instead of attractive ones with bad fashion sense. remember when atleast the sims 2 or sims 3 generated townies that looked somewhat decent? I remember, I can totally deal with the bad fashion sense but for once I real,ly just want a sim to generate with one of my body presets I've downloaded.

The Sims Team is hinting that customizable pronouns for Sims could be added as a future feature. I do wonder if this feature will be allowed for the locales that don't acknowledge the alphabet soup of "genders".
