I miss 2014-2020 youtube which was the golden period of youtube

I don't. I physically cringe now whenever I see "SJWs rekt with FACTS and LOGIC" videos/comments, all thanks to these people. They became everything they fought against and mutated from a bunch of people laughing at hysterical freaks shitting their pants because there were too many fucking white males in a piece of media, into a bunch of hysterical freaks themselves who shit their pants every time a black person sneezed in a piece of media. The meltdown over shit like Captain Marvel, which is still ongoing to this day, was downright embarrassing and you only need to look at people like NoBullshit and Computing Forever to see the utter brain rot the anti-SJW ideology causes. I'm not saying the alternative is necessarily preferable, but I'm finding anti-SJW dunkfests more amusing to watch lately.

The "intellectual dark web" was a more refined operation.

If it had been around when everything kicked off in 2014, it might have got some mileage, but it came about in 2017 when people were starting to get sick of the whole skeptic shtick. Then Peterson lost debates to Matt Dilahunty and Slavoj Zizek, his cringey fans caused a Rick and Morty effect on his brand and he ended up in a coma, Ben Shapiro got humiliated on BBC news and started pushing rubbish like Intelligent Design on his show and people finally realised Dave Rubin was a moron. NoBullshit's presence was a real eye opener, he's so fucking stupid it seeps through the editing. Which highlighted flaws with the others.

How can you run a career on making content about being against random things cause it's objectively "smart" to do so?

That said, I recently read into some spirituality and turns out that this Sam Harris guy is one of the 'Four Horsemen' with Richard Dawkins. The unironical jesus council to these big brained 5head types, which almost made me want to stop reading his work from that connection alone.

Two things are immediate indications of immaturity: Political obsession without participation, and being so against things you go out of your way to tell people why.

This is one of the things that a lot of people overlook when it comes to the “Skeptic” community: there is a difference between having healthy skepticism and roaming around being a know-it-all with an imaginary soapbox to shout generic statements like “Radical feminism is bad!” or “Black people are 13% of the population yet commit over 50% of crimes”.

It doesn’t take a lot to do the latter.

What occurs to me on reflection is none of these people really have the academic chops or intellectual muscle to produce a coherant critique of intersectional femminism at the heart of the sjw movement. Sargons ultimate failure is this, he hates the woke online shit but it's emotional rather than intelectual so he can't really build a legtimate alternative so constantly loses debates.

Mostly young debaters fall into the trap of doing that, while getting mad at people whose own job is to research facts and opinions and that go against their own opinion. If anything, most Skeptics remind me of this meme:

It's funny how a bunch of these guys built up their platforms off of PWNing progressives, while also attempting to present themselves as being the most rational person in the room. Yet as time went on, their true colors began to show. Off the top of my head:

• Sargon's attempt to get into politics, while seemingly admirable, only managed to make a complete mockery out of himself. Also doesn't help that he got destroyed by Richard Spencer in that one debate.
• Blaire White got called out for not only spreading lies about a trans-athlete, but also for trying to ignore the initial pushback.
• Mundane Matt's boulder saga. Nuff said.
• Jeremy, aka The Quartering, recently tried to get someone cancelled. Now it's totally blowing up in his face (shocker).
• Milo Yiannopoulos becoming absolutely irrelevant. He continues to seethe about it to this day.
• Brooks, aka No Bullshit, has been shat on by a bunch of film review channels (such as Jay Exci) over the years for his terrible takes. One time, he was asked to elaborate on some of his criticisms against the Black Panther film. Rather than elaborate, he just tried to act like everyone was being very mean to him.

You could also probably throw Shoe on Head in there, though she seems to be all over the fucking place lately.

They fucked up their image because it's actually really hard to remain rational about everything. It's why we have laws and religion. Pretending society's fads are the only important impediment to rationality all the time (when it's only some of the time, human nature is the culprit most of the time) is why I always found the New Atheist appeals a little hollow.

In a nutshell Doomcocks rumours were bullshit (as if people couldn’t tell) I think it was geeks and gamers called doomcocks fans idiots on a live stream. Also how they all bitched out when Zack Snyder called them all out.
