You just know that if this game ever releases it's going to be rammed full of the kind of elitist testicle garglers who won't want 'casuals' to join the fun. If Eve Online is srs space for srs spreadsheet fetishists then Star Citizen is going to make it look like a breezy little mobile game in terms of pure tism.View attachment 1484679
This is your average Star Citizen cow

Having enough disposable income isn't enough satisfaction for these turbo nerds. They need to make a nasty vest to feel good about themselves. I backed Star Citizen and even I hate these people.Allow me to introduce you to the gymnitai, one of Star Citizens many insane communities and their mandatory "uniform"

a dude wandering the Folsom Street Fair in a rainbow leather jockstrap looks at that and says, "That's some real gay shit."That's some real gay shit even for Star Citzen
They've gone so incredibly far and out of their way to make sure that isn't likely. They'll be really butthurt when some zoomer boards and steals their $1000 starship.
The new flight model sucks compared to the old one. I used to spend time practicing to get better at my maneuvers and it was a fun side goal. And then RSI decided they needed to kill that and sell more JPEGs. It is funny even calling it the "new" flight model, that must have been five years ago at this point. They've gone so incredibly far and out of their way to make sure that isn't likely.
Also they changed the flight engine entirely awhile back so people who know how and when proper fighter maneuvers won't be able to outright dominate guys in giant ships with a billion guns.
The Alpha used to be really fun in that one aspect, honestly
I think it's only 2 years old, but yeah, it's really fucking awfulThe new flight model sucks compared to the old one. I fully expect Star Citizen to have a Freelancer-tier economy at best. But isn't the thing that makes EVE the tism singularity that it is the economy? From what I understand, the EVE economy has a million moving parts and tons of ways to make money if you know what you're doing, making it exploitable by speds who understand math and not much else. Star Citizen, AFAIK, doesn't have a basic economy let alone one that can match EVE's for scale and complexity.
I was gonna say, it will probably have static supply and demand routes or some algorithmic shifting supply and demand scale like Elite: Dangerous, but it won't react to player input the way EVE does. Even if it were a reachable goal for a studio as bogged down as this one it's already not on the menu for a game like this.I fully expect Star Citizen to have a Freelancer-tier economy at best.
Considering how Chris Roberts and Co. need to have their fingers in the pie, they will probably adjust prices/demand every now and then under the guise of "events" or something.I was gonna say, it will probably have static supply and demand routes or some algorithmic shifting supply and demand scale like Elite: Dangerous, but it won't react to player input the way EVE does. All I want is a fun, persistent multiplayer spaceship game where I can fly around and do stuff to get paid. Elite's too autistic, No Man's Sky is more about the weird exploration, and all the first-person space MMOs have gone out of business, I think.
Chris just announced they are working on a new roadmap for S42(which of course isn't even done yet) and even his cultists are attacking him in the comments section.
And note they're working on it. It's not ready yet. I guess it's really hard to get everyone running the show to stop laughing long enough to figure out how best to promise people that you're working on figuring out how best to promise people that you're actually working on a game instead of running a con, pinkie swear. So they are doing a roadmap for the roadmap.
"The guy comes out and says I'm a prick," Kotick told the latest issue of Edge magazine.
"I've never met him in my life – I've never had anything to do with him. I never had any involvement in the Vivendi project that they were doing, Brütal Legend, other than I was in one meeting where the guys looked at it and said, 'He's late, he's missed every milestone, he's overspent the budget and it doesn't seem like a good game. We're going to cancel it.'
"And do you know what? That seemed like a sensible thing to do. And it turns out, he was late, he missed every milestone, the game was not a particularly good game..."
