The state of Dunkin' Donuts -

Hello everybody. I wanted to ask the oldfags among you a question about Dunkin' Donuts. Does anyone think that the quality of their donuts has gone down in past ten years? I remember really liking their donuts when I was a kid, but now I really don't like them and prefer get donuts from a supermarket (the chain isn't that big, so I'm afraid that I can't name them). Now, I don't know if this is because my tastes have matured over the years or because there has been a drop in quality as I've only recently been able to get Dunkin' Donuts whenever I want. Is there someone here who has been following Dunkin' Donuts more closely than I have that would like to share their thoughts?

They only recently re-opened a Dunkin' in my neck of the woods. The only time I had them before was almost two decades ago, and I liked them but I was a kid and they were pastries so of course I liked them. The Dunkin' Donuts I had more recently were alright. Nothing special. Better than Kroger brand but that's not saying a whole lot. There's this little hole in the wall right down the street that serves some of the best donuts I've ever had, so I mostly just go there on the occasions I want a donut.

I don't like donuts - they're too sweet and have a nasty aftertaste sometimes
egg sandwiches/wraps though, I'll happily eat no matter how low-quality they are, and I say DD is alright with its breakfast items

.... though I could just go a local deli for a better sandwich. Worth the extra pennies.

I drink their coffee every day fresh from the drive thru . DONT JUDGE MEH

The overall customer service has DIED due to a decline in hardworking individuals and corporate ownership relationship with franchisee parties.

In Boston where it all started they follow tradition. Everywhere else it's a crap shoot.

I last had a Dunkin Donut about 8 years ago, I remember them at least being better than Krispy Kreme doughnuts, which were insanely sweet.

I've never had Dunkin Donuts because my town is small. I've thought of looking into what franchise fees might be but I'm sure its more than I have.

There's a town near me called Duncan and those pussies won't set up shop there because there's a Duncan Donuts run by filthy vietnamese people, and the closest one is in Oklahoma City. A 1 hour drive is a whole hell of a lot shorter than a 6 hour one :/

I've got a few near me but I don't think I've had anything from them in a decade or so. I didn't dislike them or anything but I'm not super into sweets and my pal who is prefers Krispy Kreme which is also near me.
I used to get their sandwiches and coffee shakes a lot back in the day when I worked at like 2am and they were one of the few hot food options near my job then.

Last time I went to a Dunkin' the service was awful (actually saw a customer walk out because no one could take his order), they had run out of an ingredient for breakfast sandwiches, and the donut really wasn't any better than what I could get at H-E-B.

As more and more franchises open, there are fewer and fewer DDs that actually fry their donuts onsite. Now, they're baked off and shipped at like 4am to each restaurant. Back in the day, each location actually made them fresh- so they were delicious. It's a constant battle to mass produce them while also making them taste as good as they'd taste if they're made fresh. That, on top of workers not giving a fuck about making the food correctly, creates major problems.

A family member of mine brokers a lot of their food. He has to visit random restaurants to do QC. He's constantly pissed off that the people working there butcher how the food is supposed to be made- then also dgaf that they're serving absolute garbage to customers.

I think their donuts are still great, but their iced coffee and coffee drinks are definitely sweeter than they used to be. I don’t eat their sandwiches, but their munchkins aren’t as good as they used to be. Every time I get them they’re a little stale.

Never had fond memories of Dunkin', and I sure as hell don't have any fond memories of working there. Easy job, boring as hell.
