Pat's been talking about crunch for years and his opinions have gone largely unchallenged because it's the popular opinion. If he cared about the issue as much as he portrays he does it would've been interesting to see him argue his points against someone who's been in the AAA industry at a higher level than QA.
Also, "We have standards for our podcast guests"? His dog farts in his mic.

The fanboys are creaming their pants pretending Pat is the coolest guy in the world. I can't believe I used to be like this.
I remember he said on the podcast back then "most of it is tabloid bullshit, but the stuff about the shady practices of journalists and devs and so on, it's true and everybody knows it".
Of course, he'd die before admitting to be proGG or merely "not antiGG" nowadays. Also he's got terminal Sterling poisoning.
Most people who complain about crunch dont seem to understand that almost every industry can have periods of crunch. Even if you own your own business sometimes you have to crunch yourself into the dirt, if youre a savvy business owner sometimes youll just stop paying yourself. Pat hasnt had true hardship. I dont live Jaffe, but he is right that sometimes people just need to pull themselves up by your boot straps.
David Jaffe is such an insufferable idiot and I hate that youtube keeps recommending me his terrible videos. I'll take Pat being a dismissive jackass over "come on my podcast bro, we're just going to have a discussion. Debate me." shit. Pat and Woolie both understand that some crunch is required but every time they criticize it, it's about people being crunched for months on end.

Two and a half, to be exact. And I dunno, maybe he just got really mad about getting called out on Twitter. Or he did that thing where he digs up a tweet from like five years ago and goes “lol look at this dumbass lets player” or whatever. Looking at the titles of his other videos, Jaffe appears to be a drama Youtuber or something.
I would love it if he somehow finds the street fighter clip of Pat, that would make this whole slapfight interesting

And why the hell is he wrong, Pat? Who are you to talk about crunch? You think things are so simple as "Crunch = Bad" and that's it? I'm not a game dev but even i know this job not "standard". You have dozens of people working in completely different abstract pieces with no sense of progress or failsafes. Shit is going to happen, you will fail to meet deadlines, overworking is the only way to get shit done, etc. This isnt to defend crush but it's something you have to accept as a sad reality instead of rejecting completely.

No you dont. I only recall Castle Super Beast having 2 guests that happened past ep 100, some random journalist and a literally who gamedev/blogger who only ever directed 1 walking simulator. Might as well pull a street hobo next.
