I know you got your answer, but just general OTG knowledge:
If you did have electric heater & solar (with enough overhead on your solar capacity) is you could run the heaters to raise your house temperature several degrees to keep it from freezing overnight or delay/reduce your non-renewable fuel use (they are not in a forested area, so even a woodburning/woodpellet stove is 'non-renewable')
The TRULY correct way to heat with solar would be use Passive solar heating and water; you pump water to the passive pipes on the roof, heat it and collect it in an insulated tank and use water's high thermal inertia to provide heat over night.
For maximum efficiently, you'd want some form of radiant heating; if you were really on top of things you'd have concrete floors with your pipes run through them, allowing you also use the concrete floor as a thermal sink.
Anyway, the real trick is that if you want to really be actually efficient you're going to have to be used to wide range of temperatures because you need to make your house very warm during the day when you have energy and allow it drop to just above pipe-freezing at night. IE You need to endure some discomfort. And as Alpacaschwitz is overrun with Troons, none of them will want to do that.
Also the viability of this assumes normal people with excess solar capacity (that is, you have extra power you'd be wasting other wise) and not a gaggle of troons each with a 3KW gaming rig and 8 monitors (and a fucking electric car, lol) such that not even 36 acres of solar would be able to meet their electric needs.

I don't really agree with the idea that rape is a natural or desirable feature of imprisonment. I think that we need to do whatever we can to minimize and eliminate sexual assault in prisons. It is utterly inhumane and disgusting to just shrug our collective shoulders and go "well, they shouldn't have committed crime." Rape is never okay. Especially not in an institutional environment wherein the state is responsible for the well-being of the incarcerated.
Being in prison is the punishment these people have been given, not being raped. Similar to how the state is responsible for providing food and medical care to prisoners (which is an area we desperately need improvement in as well!), the state is responsible for ensuring that inmates are not sexually assaulted while in custody.
No one deserves to be raped. No matter what they've done. Full stop.
I would also add that it's not an issue of "anything remotely resembling a woman," as men who "identify" as men and are masculine are also sexually assaulted in prison. Many times, the rapist is a guard or warden. This is not an issue that only effects effeminate men, and even if it were, that would not make it permissable.
Anyway, the desperate need of prison reform in the US aside, a trans-identified prisoner who has reported being sexually assaulted multiple times obviously should be moved to a protective unit for his own safety. But that isn't a solid answer for all of the sexual assault that happens in prison.

Now I admit that I am no expert in the US legal system but all sources I can find claims that prostitution can only be punished by up to 12 months in jail at max. So there have to be something going on there.

At a guess, I would say he's lying about being arrested for "prostitution" but may have been arrested for a different, more serious sex crime. After all, available numbers show that over 40% of trans-identified male inmates were registered sex offenders. That's over twice the rate of normal male inmates (19%). He's probably "lying in the vicinity of the truth," so when he comes out and is a registered sex offender he can claim that he's being persecuted by the state for being a prostitute.
And that's why he won't put his real name out there. He'll put his picture out there, because it's harder to match a face to a name you don't know. But if he puts his name out there, people would be able to find his real arrest record.
Because yeah, you don't get 3+ years for being a prostitute in Georgia, which is where he claims to be incarcerated. In GA, prostitutes are sentenced to up to one year in the county jail, they don't even go to prison. He'd have to be a pimp or trafficker to go to prison for multiple years for anything even remotely close to prostitution.
This really reminds me of when Laverne Cox tried to stand up for a "persecuted" trans inmate, Synthia China Blast, who claimed that "she" was being treated poorly and was totally innocent and so on, only to find that he was a certified child raping and murdering psychopath. Trans will always lie and play the victim, no matter what.
