Journalists from the likes of the Today Show and Al Jazeera don't know anything about animal husbandry, so nothing's going to ping for them. They just assume all farms are this dirty and sad.

I'll cite this very true post again because every time I see a pic I think 'is this Jen or Norintha?' and every time I forget they are the same person. Even with the poop eating this is the most forgettable person on the tranch.
I forgot these assholes had a Patreon. So on top of the $100k grift for the non-existent fascist attacks, they're getting:

So even assuming Josie and the visitors pay nothing (unlikely, especially for the visitors, given how gibs-happy and Penellope Logue and Bonnie are), they're getting >$3,000 a month in free money. Their mortgage, unless they got absolutely fucked by the mortgage provider, is likely to be well under $1,000 (probably closer to $500, but there's a lot of variability). That means, even before grift gofundme money and whatever pitiful shit they get for selling yarn and doing tours and e-begging via Kathryn/Kevin, that's $2,500 a month for whatever random crap they fancy. No wonder they're so free with their money...
Back when I did the Bonnie dox, I think there was some circumstantial evidence to suggest they'd both been working at the same healthcare provider - Sky as some form of nurse, I believe, and Bonnie as... either a trainee or something administrative, I think. Which is frankly even more frightening.
I think just typing Tenacious Unicorn Ranch instead of Tranch every time we want to mention them (and using the full names of the inhabitants, too) isn't a bad idea - we're mid-way on page 3 of duckduckgo now, though we seem to be completely absent from google, which is a bit weird. But yeah, perhaps no walls of text just repeating their names.

An interesting analogy, but I don't think the troons can be compared to the kids on Kid Nation. The kids actually did work to keep themselves alive, and mostly made the correct choices in those "Xbox or food" type situations. Also, Patreon didn't exist back then, so the kids didn't get pennies from heaven every time they fucked up.
