Chris, despite all of his smug bragging about his 'victory over da twolls' has, in fact lost the battle.
The trolls have completely changed the way Chris interacts with other people. Fear of the trolls keeps him from doing things he genuinely enjoys: making videos / captain's logs and socializing online. The trolls, and Barb, who keeps Chris under lock-down most of the time, are pretty much in control.
Chris might actually have a chance of meeting a new gal-pal, maybe even a sweetheart through Facebook or email correspondence. He'd rather simply ignore any correspondence from someone he doesn't know in real life, or wait for someone he knows IRL to introduce him to a 'nice girl' who'll throw herself at him. By limiting his contact with potential friends / sweethearts this way, he's decreasing his already abysmally low chances of meeting 'Ms. Right'.
All he's going to get from his Facebook friends are more ass-pats, not to mention that they'll eventually get sick of his whining and just choose to ignore him. Ass-pats are one thing, but I can't see any one of them stepping up to play the role of matchmaker for Chris. (Besides, it would be a very hard sell at best.)
It's ironic really. On the one hand, Chris tells us about his superior intelligence, then goes on to whine about how he's unable to differentiate between a potential gal-pal / heartsweet and ]
P . Ordinary people deal with this sort of thing on a daily basis, and they somehow manage to get it right. You'd think it would be a snap for someone with Chris's vast intellectual prowess and powers of discernment / judgement. A lot of people have dealt with trolls, yet they still manage to socialize successfully online. They don't let their fear stop them from living their lives the way they want to.
Again, with Barb keeping him a virtual prisoner at Chez Chandler, online socialization may be his best option; he's just too stupid to figure this out.
