The hooker story wasn't fake; we just guessed the wrong one.
Kat was straight up hooking during that time. At minimum, DSP was flying her out 2000 miles for the "girlfriend experience."
The fact that two other incredible A-logs decided to blackmail a guy that feels no shame doesn't detract from the fact that Kat was a sugar baby.
From what I've learned, James did some video production work before. Workplace safety videos or something along that line. I don't know if he does anything outside of making YouTube videos currently, but he seems to make enough to own a house and support his wife and kids. He even has enough to hire Macaulay Culkin and Gilbert Gottfried to guest in his videos.
James has built himself a cozy little media outlet. He will be able to sit back and relax so long as he doesn't fuck up like TFWTG

Yeah that was really scummy even by his standards. I can understand suspending the vest thing because it was a special circumstance, but it was weird to act like the last stream just didn't happen when he doubled the vest goal

He has been making and studying film for years, heck he even made his own feature length film about The Nerd. It is James' passion and I am sure with the connections he will find something that he enjoys after he hangs up the pocket protector.
Now let's think about what Phil has gained from his legacy.
A house he can hardly afford, several dead YouTube channels, a "successful" bankruptcy, a cult of Wheelchairs who keep his bloated corpse of a streaming career afloat, and a wife who is now probably looking for greener pastures.
Also gaming is his passion but he can't do anything off-schedule when his account comes back up again. Stream's over, not even some celebratory Street Fighter or Minecaft. Thanks, Papavera!

DSP is like that annoying Karen that no one gives a shit about that's just an annoying customer at a store that at the slightest hiccup just spergs out and claims they will never come back. Even though the store is the only one with exactly what he needs so he comes back as if nothing happened after threatening the manager.

That said, the few video detractors I know of who also have accounts here don't make videos spazzing out every time DSP bounces back from something. Mostly what I've seen is gobsmacked astonishment that he continues to survive in spite of his own acerbic attitude and idiocy together with the people who actually try to bring him down. If anything people ought to realize that the power of the latter is as an ant beside the comparative omnipotence of the former.

Phil doesn’t need to be hot in 20 years though. As long as he has a few hundred wheelchairs and a few thousand tractors following him, he’s happy.
If anything Phil likes to keep a low profile, since that means fewer reminders of what a joke he is and less chance of getting cancelled.
Phil is a simple man. Give him his gin, some cash to waste on Gacha, and a few hundred losers that he can lord over and play macho clown for, and he’s happy.

I can’t even begin to imagine how annoying he’ll be in 20 years with daily reminders of his decades long legacy and how he’s outlasted all of his haters.
Firstly I disagree that he's happy. He's the quintessential Debbie Downer. Nothing is ever enough, every tragedy or shitty situation is made to be about him. Endless money just to wear a dumb vest? Fuck you it's too hot in his office.
Secondly this chucklefuck can't even handle outdated Windows, I can't even begin to imagine him trying to wrap his mind around what the tech will be like in 20 years. Look at how long it took him to move over to capture cards, and that was after ages of his fans complaining.
I don't think it's hyperbolic to say that he cannot do this forever, either the whale-well will run dry, health problems will catch up with him or he will be left so far behind by the industry he "works" in that it will no longer be viable to sustain himself with outdated rigs and methods.
Me specifically? I'm definitely not one of those emotionally invested in his downfall types. Rule #1: always remember to lol at cows. Rule #2: let the sitcom run its course naturally.
This whole situation is example #1,095,254 of Phil talking a tough game but proving he is a coward in real life. How many times has he said this is it for Twitch and that he is moving on? But as soon as he is unbanned, hs is back to licking Twitch's boot.

2. SCAMMER: I love how he just didnt continue the total tips and told someone he is the BIGGEST TIPPER OF THE DAY which is clearly not true.
3. DEMANDS SPECIAL ATTENTION: Wants protection, wants someone to talk with him so he can use pignosis on him/her. He wants special care, but dont forget, he is an average joe.
