If by western countries you mean Canada maybe. Troonery under 16 was banned in Britain last year and I would expect most of Europe to follow that as well (except maybe France because they're a bit gross).

I really think people need to get off Twitter and see how comically unacceptable this stuff actually is. You'd get beaten up in California for walking around with "minor attracted person" on a billboard. The only countries where diddling kids is actually legal are places like Yemen, which aren't exactly hotbeds of progressive values.

Fuck, Toph was even depicted as a full grown-ass adult in the sequel series. Clearly, she wasn't always a LITERAL CHILD. Turns out children age, grow up, develop, and stop being children, at which point it's perfectly fine to go full coomer over them (although you shouldn't. Coombrain: not even once). And the fanart there wasn't of a LITERAL CHILD, it was of an adult character. And the cosplay... well, she looks adult but I haven't seen her ID so I'll refrain from commenting.

Well, it's also about the "pedo hunters" on social media who all play at being Chris Hansen; arranging hook-ups with guys who think they're meeting young boys or girls but then bringing cameras and "busting" them, but since they're not trained in evidence protection and avoiding entrapment like actual law enforcement and they're just doing it for the clicks anyway, they often make it difficult if not impossible for actual law enforcement and prosecutors to make a case to get the guy convicted. Also, more broadly, people in general who throw around the word "pedophile" on the Internet so much that it is starting to lose the very serious meaning it once had, just like "nazi" and "fascist." Both of these phenomena are more interesting to me, but specifically the "if you like anime art you must be a pedo" thing seems to be more interesting to the filthy degenerate weebs on the Farms, so that part of it has dominated the thread.

In fairness, the real [effort] speds that try to do those demented honey traps haven't been very active recently. Maybe it's the coof keeping everybody home.

Either way, "idiot on twitter calling out anime art" is just this thread's holding pattern. There's not much else interesting to talk about, and plenty of morons who think calling out random people who RT'd small tits on the internet will somehow end pedophilia.

From what I've heard, Rurouni Kenshin actually had less fanservice than was usual for its genre. Actually, did any of his work feature that sort of thing at all?

Iirc Act-Age was also actually one of the "much less" fanservice series, and people at the time touted around about how that's how manga should be, until the author got arrested.

That's the thing about the Rurouni Kenshin situation; the author of Kenshin did not draw lolicon or shotacon at all and his works were known for having far less fanservice than other works of their genre at the time. Its why his arrest was so surprising and came out of left field. Meanwhile, I've never heard of any author of shotacon or lolicon getting arrested for similar reasons. Its almost like having interest in drawing sexy loli cartoon characters doesn't actually translate to real life deviancy, while the worst deviants many times turn out to be the most innocuous looking people. Another thing is that I'm pretty sure Nobuhiro Watsuki acquired a lot of that material back when it was still legal, or at the very least a grey area. It displays how fucking weird Japan is when it comes to nudity and sex sometimes. Despite being infamously repressed when it comes to actual sexual practices, for the longest time they were much more permissive when it came to child nudity than the West. They still are, to some level. Compare: Shin-Chan running around naked, to any children's cartoon made in the West in the last 50 years.

This one is just...really fucking dumb.

Several people in the indie English VTuber community got mad because an account that rates VTuber thighs (I wish I was joking) announced that Kyuotto, a controversial VTuber who uses a loli for her model, had won a monthly contest. The account got harassed by several of these VTubers to change the rules so that no one with a loli model could enter into it. These VTubers also harassed anyone who defended the decision to keep her as the winner.
