Poppy (real name Moriah Pereira) is a singer, actress, and youtuber who gained popularity for her abstract videos making fun of pop culture. She has attracted a fanbase of people ranging from pre teen girls to 30 year old pedophile men. You may be asking yourself why these people are lolcows, and I’ll tell you why. They call themselves a “cult” and blindly follow whatever Poppy says and support ONLY those who she supports. Poppy recently was involved in a lawsuit where singer Mars Argo was suing Poppy for copying her and Poppy’s director, Titanic Sinclair for domestic violence. According to the lawsuit, which is linked here: https://archive.md/pNo1K Titanic broke into Mars’ house and broke her wine glasses as well as hit her on several occasions and cheated on her. Anyway, Poppy’s fans claim that the whole cult thing is satire but they actively participate in a site called poppy.church which is where they can pretend to be in this cult. They act very cult-like in the sense that they don’t question Poppy at all and blindly follow her. Here is Poppy’s response to the lawsuit and comments about it. As you can see, Poppy had a very weak argument but it was unquestioned by her fans.
There is also current drama between singer Grimes and Poppy over a collab that they did but I won’t get too much into that. Poppy’s fans ruthlessly attack any fans of Mars Argo and Grimes and the singers themselves due to the sole fact that they dislike Poppy.
