I posted something like this on the old board but figured I do it again.
If you read all of his messages to her, he comes across as pretty nerdy, but generally within a normal range. Then, after the trolls found her, he descends into the paranoia and denial we see today. Even his spelling and random capitalization are absent in in the earlier messages, but not the one when the trolls find her. I wonder if he was coached or finally figured out how to talk to a girl, at least initially. Of course that all falls apart once the trolls find her and we have such gems as "he'll have to pay $100 to get a hooker if you leave him", which absolutely killed me.
And it's pretty obvious she's not interested. She dodges his date attempts like a politician. We all know that "friend" to Chris means "gal-pal who just hasn't come around yet".
Somebody mentioned her reaction as well and how it was pretty rabid right away after the trolls got to her. The whole thing fascinates me as after the tipping point we see nutty Chris come out when before he was behaving as normal as he could be.
