The Worst Shovelware Video Games You've Ever Played -

Speaking of Nintendo Switch Online, Mighty Bomb Jack and The Immortal (at least the NES version) are hot garbage. The Japanese version of Nintendo Switch Online has Atlantis no Nazo, which is also a terrible game.
There's also Brawl Brothers, a horrid Beat-Em-Up with awful hit detection and fucking maze levels. They don't even tell you that it's a maze. I spent a good 7 minutes on the second level, thinking, "Wait, am I actually making progress?" only to realize that it was a fucking maze.

There's also the issue of ripoff characters, including a dude that's basically Zangief wearing M. Bison's outfit.

Probably any contemporary Sonic the Hedgehog game released for a major console.

Only "3D" one I remember playing was Shadow the Hedgehog, which was one of the worst and most boring games I've ever played, not to mention childishly easy.

i mean, you haven't played any 3D Sonic besdies what many people consider a bad game, (and even then i kinda liked it). who's to say every 3D one is bad?

Speaking of the Switch's NES emulator, the publishers of Eliminator Boat Duel couldn't even be bothered to spell the game's title correctly on its spine:

First impressions hit hard, I guess. And he isn't exactly wrong in the sense that some of the recent ones aren't exactly worth picking up.
Right, and I also read reviews of Sonic games widely considered to be monstrosities - like Sonic '06, Sonic Unleased, Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Boom '14.

Also out of curiosity, what's the last game that Sonic's original creator worked on?

Shadow the Hedgehog, lol

It's not entirely his fault, though. Sega kept demanding more Sonic games under shorter deadlines. Basically trashing Naka's reputation. The only one left was Iizuka, who doesn't really know dick about the series, anyway.

Black Knight is kind of mediocre. Sure, it looks good and the gameplay works most of the time; but the plot is pants-on-head retarded.

The rest of those are just Sega attempts to stay in business with the least amount of effort possible.

I played an Animaniacs game on the Genesis as a kid that wasn't half bad, although it wasn't great.
The gb version only had 3 levels and the levels themselves were shorter, it was the shittest port I seen, even worse than GTASA for PC which ran like a turd

Afaik SA2 which was pretty good and way better than the buggy rushed first game. He was a producer up to sonic riders which was a cash-in piece of shit

You can tell how after SA2 nobody at sega gave two fucks about the franchise, like not even trying to make a good game anymore

Eh, the first 4 games on the genesis were great (fight me) and back then in the industry most games were done in months and not years anyway

He's a good coder but I heard he's shit to work with, went 100% autistic about sharing the nights engine with other studios at sega even though it would have helped a lot since the saturn was a bitch to program so most 3D games looked like shit

As for iizuka I checked and he's been with the series since s3&k, arguably the best of 2D sonic games. I guess he's just tired of been working on the same fucking game for 27 years, a game whose fanbase is better known for extreme autism, disgusting porn and cwc. A game that has become synonymous with shittiness, bad voice acting and cringe.

Thats your life legacy, or not since when people hear sonic they think about naka, a guy who jumped ship 14 years ago.

i also disagree on that i think the gameplay is ass but the story is amazing. with how well the characters are... characterized and well-developed, and just how mindlessly badass it can be at times.

i also think 06 and Boom had more effort than people give them to, but they ended up sucking because of development incompetence, such as unrealisticly low deadlines, forcing devs to do pretty difficult tasks quickly such as porting Boom to a console that just coudn't handfle the engine it was built it or endlessly splitting teams and important people living mid-development. that was also the reason Sonic X-Treme was cancelled, it seems their JUST learning their lessons by taking their time and if the 4Chan leaks are true, letting people focus test and playtest the game early instead of blindly trying to appeal to everyone.

Unleashed isn't that bad, hell id say it's a very good game, and people are just realizing it, the only major flaw is some bad pacing, but both the Speed and Werehog sections are rightly polished., and the speed segments would carry on to Colors and Generations wich are regarded as good (although people are realizing colors isn't that good)

Isn't there a mod that outright ports the speed segments from Unleashed into Generations?

Does anyone have an opinion on the GBA or DS Sonic games?

I never played them, but I heard they were a lot better received than most of the console ones (probably because they stuck closer to the original formula, even with its flaws).

The Rush and Sonic Advance series are as good as Sonic can get. Chronicles was a dud. And Colors was made in the same vein as the Rush series.
