The Worst Video Game OST You've Ever Heard -

Depth Dwellers has the most depressing soundtrack of any game. Title theme is the same music that plays during all the levels.

EA Trax. Not sure if it even counts as a soundtrack, since it's basically just a playlist that sort of goes with the game. Not written for the games and it changes just when the track finishes so it doesn't sync up with anything going on in the actual game. Games like GTA and Sleeping Dogs that have radio stations have soundtrack music specific to the games as well as the songs, it's not like they only rely on some licensed songs that they shoehorn into the game.

I'd also say Myst 4 was a letdown compared to the music and sound design of previous games. The main choral/orchestral theme was good, and the music in Spire and Haven was alright, but then you have some random Peter Gabriel track stuck in there and played again at the end, probably just to show off that they'd got him on board. Curtains isn't a terrible song in itself, but it doesn't fit with the rest of the score or the setting and it took me out of the game, and that to me makes it a bad soundtrack. It doesn't just have to be good, it has to fit with everything else that's going on, and honestly if it adds to the setting rather than takes away from it, it doesn't even have to be all that good to listen to on its own. Myst's strength has always been its immersion and sense of exploring some strange other worlds, and if the music doesn't fit with it, you lose a big part of that.

What makes it worse is that it replaced a song that was genuinely unsettling

It actually makes a lot of sense that they just fucked up in production as it was supposed to be a different instrument.
FYI the composer was a giant fraud who faked being deaf, so it wasn't like he could tell them they messed it up.

This right here is not awful but rather cringe in the hardest way.

When this song happened I honestly contemplated deinstalling the game. The game wasn't that good BTW. Oh, the whole game is littered with cringe adult language it's just to be cursing for the sake of it.
And it falls flat hard.

BTW I recently saw a video about the Resident Evil DC basement music. Was quite good, and it was the ghost writer who wrote it.
It's GameSpot I know, but this video was kind of OK.

Wow! The corrected version is actually quite eerie. Still, it's amazing that no one else involved in production listened to it and thought "hold on, this doesn't sound quite right"...

This almost made it into the final game.
I remember how I was reading comments about Subhuman and wondering "why do people are so mean to this song? It's not Divine Hate or Taste the Blood, but it's still ok". Now understand what they were talking about.

I'll pick this, because someone in the development team decided, that this song is so good, that it should play in doc.station, where you respawn every time you die. Guess what? It's not.

I suppose they were running out of time or alternatively one of the sound guys thought "Oh this must be a goofy track where some unexpected comedy occurs."
