Shabnam - not her real name - who is a psychologist at a state-run clinic in Iran says some gay people now end up being pushed towards surgery. Doctors are told to tell gay men and women that they are "sick" and need treatment, she says. They usually refer them to clerics who tell them to strengthen their faith by saying their daily prayers properly.

But medical treatments are also offered. And because the authorities "do not know the difference between identity and sexuality", as Shabnam puts it, doctors tell the patients they need to undergo gender reassignment.

In many countries this procedure involves psychotherapy, hormone treatment and sometimes major life-changing operations - a complex process that takes many years.

That's not always the case in Iran.

"They show how easy it can be," Shabnam says. "They promise to give you legal documents and, even before the surgery, permission to walk in the street wearing whatever you like. They promise to give you a loan to pay for the surgery."

Supporters of the government's policy argue that transgender Iranians are given help to lead fulfilling lives, and have more freedom than in many other countries. But the concern is that gender reassignment surgery is being offered to people who are not transgender, but homosexual, and may lack the information to know the difference.

"I think a human rights violation is taking place," says Shabnam. "What makes me sad is that organisations that are supposed to have a humanitarian and therapeutic purpose can take the side of the government, instead of taking care of people."

Psychologists suggested gender reassignment to Soheil, a gay Iranian 21-year-old.

Then his family put him under immense pressure to go through with it.

"My father came to visit me in Tehran with two relatives," he says. "They'd had a meeting to decide what to do about me... They told me: 'You need to either have your gender changed or we will kill you and will not let you live in this family.'"

His family kept him at home in the port city of Bandar Abbas and watched him. The day before he was due to have the operation, he managed to escape with the help of some friends. They bought him a plane ticket and he flew to Turkey.

Nyk and Theryn are both very narcissistic but I don't know yet who is manipulating whom here. Is Theryn manipulating Nyk or is Nyk manipulating Theryn? They are both love-bombing eachother hard, and getting lovebombed by their audiences in return who are witnesses to the courtship, as narcissists are prone to do with their target (they love-bomb their pray to passify them) but when you are dealing with two narcissistic personalities it is hard to tell who has the upperhand in such a codependent relationship nexus. It's too easy to assume that Nyk is Theryn's Personal Jesus and SJW cult guru. Because the fact is that Theryn was getting married, and Nyk was basically just her side-bitch for the duration of her bachelor party-period, only Theryn decided to extend the bachelor party and cancel the wedding. So who is using whom here? I think it is best to leave narcissists to themselves. The more narcissists pair up with each other the better it is for the rest of society being spared the damage that narcissists usually cause in their relationships. As for Nyk's obviously sexual relationship to Theryn, Theryn started out as a homosexual boy before transitioning, so Theryn falling in love with Nyk is nothing unusual for Theryn. Nyk on the other hand admitted in one of the now deleted pre-transition Livestreams having absolutely no homosexual experiences whatsoever pre-transition and being "pretty much straight" (though Nyk did alude to being a trannie chaser pre-HRT and was also streaming trannie porn on Blogtv before his audience during his streams), so I guess Theryn is basically "breaking-in" Nyk.

Here's what happened at the time on Twitter, for those of you who weren't around:

Theryn, back when she still had the @TheTherynMeyer account, she posted a series of tweets (this was after the first Livestream with Nyk, I believe before the Vancouver event) and announced that she was going to do a series of videos on her Youtube channel about the farmers in South Africa.

Then Theryn does the 180 to get chummy with Nyk, and it seems like the series on the South African farmers is canned... but in the mean time Lauren Southern travels to South Africa and comes out with a documentary on her channel about... exactly the very same topic Theryn said she was going to make a series of videos about on her own channel.

Isn't this a little weird? I suspect Theryn must have worked or had already started working on Lauren's documentary behind-the-scenes, while at the same time sucking up to Nyk and pretending to become an SJW. It's even possible that Theryn outsourced the idea for the documentary to Lauren so that Theryn could get to work on Nyk without Nyk suspecting that Theryn was maintaining her connections to the likes of Lauren and working "quietly" behind the scenes.

Another relevant video I should post in this thread as well, for those of you who missed it, is Brittany Simon's MythCon pannel with Blaire and Theryn from last September:

Theryn parrots the Parrott and says that she cares only about how things look nowadays but she looks awful in this video, hardly any proper make up on, feet turned awkwardly inwards like a geek, stuttering her way through her points. Like I said Brittany offered them shots at the beginning which only makes it worse in terms of the incoherence. Notice the broad manly shoulders on Theryn during the close ups. You need to have some serious clevage to make such a deep plunging neckline work, which Theryn doesn't have. All these gay boys who grew up with J-Lo wearing a deep plunging neckline dress want to emulate that look when they grow up, but it doesn't work because they don't have J-Lo's tits and hips. Theryn looks like she pulled down a curtain from the living room and wrapped it around herself. Blaire looks super curvy in this video and I think she could rock that dress way better than Theryn.

I am glad though that Blaire and Theryn are friends again and Nyk was unable to drive a wedge between them. Good on them for figuring out how stupid it was to end their friendship over Nyk's political drama mongering. I like to think Miss Angel was an indirect catalyst of that with her pep-talk about positivity and hard work. Friendships sometimes need work too.
