Batman Forever for Super Nintendo.

I played this game when I was five and couldn't get past the first stage because of cryptic shit. I tried for a whole rental weekend, and it was rough because the game just creeped me the fuck out.

I recently revisited it after thinking about it, and the game still gives me this weird unnerving feeling. It's everything about the game. The music, the background and sprite artwork, the weird fighting game style gameplay, the loading in a fucking cart game. Everything just feels "off".

Here is a lets play if you guys want to see if I'm just being weird or what.

The best way I can describe the game is it feels like playing a fever nightmare. It especially hits those levels when you get to the final stage and have to fight multiple Jim Carrey Riddlers in an abyss of question marks, then fight two face, then fight a giant roided out Bane version of Riddler.

Well, it's that kind of movie.

The first stage is something out of Condemned: Criminal Origins. It's a maze of pitch-black corridors, with inmates bursting from every door, swinging their handcuffs wildly and shooting electricity at you. The theatrical film was supposed to open at Arkham, but WB cut that sequence. Maybe because it was too scary.

It's a dark game in general: With few exceptions, there are scattered spotlights and enemies. That's it.
