Couple more benign ones:
  • When I was like three or four I saw this scene in Madeline where she gets caught in some toy factory machinery and I freaked out because I thought she was gonna die.
  • Retroactively, the Jimmy Neutron episode where Sheen's brain got huge because that's probably what caused me to see creepy images of Sheen when trying to sleep.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder version) contained a lot of babby's first body horror, but Violet Beauregarde turning into a giant blueberry really freaked out 5 year old me more than the others. I remember that for a little while afterwards, I'd randomly have that image flash before my eyes.
Oh god, "Augustus don't eat your fingers" like what the fuck was that shit?

Weird Al.

Thankfully I grew up and now he's the celebrity that scares me the least.

The Donald Duck cartoon "Modern Inventions". I'm still not sure why, but the robots terrified me as a kid. We watched it in preschool and I remember one of the teachers having to take me outside to calm me down:

There was a programme called Look and Read in the UK which consisted of various serials with a storyline structured around helping children learn to read. One of them "Earth Warp" was about an alien who came to Earth to help deal with pollution or something, and the scene at the end of the first episode where the alien comes out of the sea was freaky as shit. I was pleased to see from the comments section I wasn't the only one who was scared:

Yeah, I found that scene pretty horrifying too. I was even more horrified when I found out it was a fetish years later.

Speaking of horrifying childhood scenes I later found out turned people on, the donkey transformation scene from Pinocchio still bothers me to this day:

The opening of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" and several of its episodes would definitely get to me.

There’s a scene near the end of The Tale of the 13th Floor that’s like the kids’ version of Fire in the Sky. Still one of my absolute favorite shows as a kid, though.

My main media-related fear as a kid was ET. I still have no idea how the hell he was supposed to be cute. Especially with those long, creepy fingers... ugh.

The fucking dust monster from Round the Twist.
Rewatching it now, I can't even remember why it freaked me out so much. But I do remember being terrified of any dust building up in my room and under my bed, in case it happened to me.

In Ernest Scared Stupid there's a part where trolls start coming out of the ground in a forest and as a kid that got me real bad after watching it. There was a foresty area right by my house and I remember thinking they lived underground and would grab you if you went in at night.

Ray Bradbury Theater episode Skeleton. It's basically about a guy that is always worried about getting sick. He thinks there is something wrong with his skeleton and goes to this creepy doctor to get a Xray. At some point he thinks his skeleton is trying to escape. Then the doctor comes and steals his skeleton leaving him like this.

I saw it at age six and was scared of xrays after that.
