Like the subtitle says

I was going through some photos and stumbled over "that thing", something I had completely forgotten but took a picture of because wtf. I spotted it one spring morning through the currently sparse hedges surrounding a house in a small upper-middle class suburb outside of :powerlevel:

"That thing" is this thing.
A male blackface something dressed in a rubber skinsuit with a long blonde wig, holding something red, standing on a wrought iron stand(?) behind a statue of a child sitting down hugging their legs. Might be a girl but I think it is a boy.

It's cropped from a bigger image and the quality is crap, it is also overexposed because it was taken with a phone camera almost exactly 10 years from today. Weird coincidence.

I never figured this one out.


Anyone else have some personal mysteries or encountered something that you can't make sense of? Not necessarily like my post, strange in general like taking an unknown shortcut and seeing some people doing something odd and you cannot understand what they hope to achieve by it. Like hobos lining up busted old hockey helmets in a straight line, like a caterpillar, or...

Last time I went to visit my family in the Bay Area we walked right into the middle of a nude biking convoy by the wharf. Nothing makes you question your life choices like being flashed by a bunch of fifty-somethings' bush and dick combos.

I may have posted about this before but,

Once saw a guy riding bareback on a horse down a normal neighborhood street. Here are some things that make it a little more weird, the street he road out of before he galloped past us in to the sunset was a dead end street, he was dressed in jeans and a wife beater so I don't think it was part of a show or like a kids party or something, he had a panicked look on his face and acted like he was trying to get away from someone, we were no where near any place that had horses.

I used to date someone who lived on top of a big hill in a queens suburb. We used to smoke blunts on their front stoop in the mornings and one day we heard a continuous scream getting louder and louder. Because of trees and the way the hill curved outta sight we couldn't see anything coming, but sure enough, a roaring car engine and a scream were getting louder and louder.
As I'm taking the blunt from this person they scream, "Look!" and point behind me. Cresting the hill is a car with a guy spread eagle on the windshield, face down, screaming at the driver. I remember he had curly blond hair and looked kinda like a jock. I was reminded of that guy from 90210 back in the day? Ian Ziering? That's what looked like to me at a glance, but I never saw his face. The car seems like a Saturn in my mind, it was all smooth lines mid-90s cough drop aesthetic. The car and the man disappeared over the other side of the hill and neither of us said anything for the rest of the session.

I watched someone fall down a flight of stairs with a pint, manage to hit the bottom without spilling it all, then falling down the same set of stairs again not 1 minute later.

I was waiting for the bus with my parents to go to a restaurant and a black lady that was standing on the corner of the sidewalk she started stripping and pissing on the sidewalk she was fat. My poor virgin 6 year old eyes.

I was watching my wife's son come home with his friends to have a quick orgy. The black bull they dragged into the house had a completely curved penis that went 180 degrees. I would post a picture of it, but my wife told me that would be racist.
However, this big black dick did not go out of my head and so I've decided to watch my wife's bulls during one of their plowing sessions, all of these African Americans had extremely curved penises which only fascinated me more with this strange phenomena.
I decided to hold an investigation into my strange obsession and headed to multiple gay clubs in my vicinity and what do you know, all of the black men there also had completely curved penises. Is this normal? Of course I cannot assume that this is a genetic trait because we are all equal, but this strange coincidence haunts me to this day.

I saw a vampire turkey... thing once. I mean like if someone had taken dead, plucked poultry and turned it into a b-movie gag, like a large headless beige facehugger gremlin creature.

It galloped past my living room window on all fours and then took off into the sky like it was being yanked up on a wire.

When touring unis, I saw a guy spazzing the fuck out on the sidewalk. He didn't look like a student, he was a 40-something year old, probably on some psychedelic, and looked like the first person to come within five feet of him was gonna get their head ripped off.

Back in my retail days working an outlet mall it was more dead than usual, like hadn't seen another living person that didn't work there dead, so when a tumbleweed literally rolled by the front door of the shop I called my boss to let them know I received a sign from God to close early. One of the more recent perplexing things was two men at a large, regional mall. They were obviously gay given the way they were walking together, one of them a taller black guy, and one of them a smaller white guy with shorts that were a bit too short for normal male fashion. What made him especially stand out is the white guy's whole outfit seemed to be made out of dark plaid, like he fashioned it out of curtains or something.

A friend and I were driving to the store to pick up a few things and on an overpass sidewalk was an asian guy holding a sign that read: 75¢ you can't hit me.

Not really weird, but damn cool. Over the summer I was driving through some back roads in Rocky Mountain NP and there was a half dead rabbit or something just chilling in the middle of the road. Out of nowhere, a bobcat jumps down out of a tree right on top of it, grabs it in its mouth, and bolts back into the woods before I even had a chance to slam on my brakes. Seriously, it would have made the Flash blush.

All I could say was "wat".

Not weird maybe, but unique.

First, driving the highway that runs alongside the Mississippi River, doing about 60. Up ahead a rabbit shoots across the road, but just as he crosses the median a huge bald eagle swoops down and flies off with him across the river.

I like to think the eagle was just helping that li'l ol' bunny rabbit earn some Frequent Flyer points.

Second, driving during an ice storm with everyone creeping along the divided highway at about 20, terrified of losing control. Then, on the other side of the divide, I see That Asshole, with his 4x4 SUV with elevated suspension (these guys always think that 4-wheel drive is immune to ice slippage), doing at least 40-50 and slaloming around the other cars. As he swerved around one of the cars, he started sliding sideways until he hit a patch of un-iced pavement. At which point the SUV rolled and became airborne, with all four tires pointing directly to the sky as he headed toward the ditch. I laughed for twenty minutes.
