Thoughts on the dark color scheme -

Okay, for starters I love the color choices. However I have a few requests

1. The typing message window in chat and the thread creation window goes white when you start typing but the text doesn't change color.

Possible fix: keep it black like it is without selecting it

Remember this also happens with the naming window when you create a new thread. And for poll options

2. Previously viewed thread titles are really hard to see

Possible fix: just make the text for previously viewed threads a darker but still visible and noticeable teal.

3. Titles for the various forums/pages at the top is black and very hard to see.

Possible fix: make it white or teal.

4. The buttons for editing threads and enabling spoilers are also a bit too dark.

Other than that I personally really like it, and can't wait til the new background and banner arrive.

It wasn't ready. Dunno if you noticed but I've been fucking with that domain for the last hour, switching back and forth constantly and tweaking/breaking things. I haven't encouraged people to switch yet for the sole reason of wanting to be able to make live edits.

The new media isn't going to arrive, I will be holding a contest this weekend to come up with a banner design. I'll also be accepting backgrounds from users, something you may be interested in because of your steamworks stuff. The main issue is that, 80% of the middle will be obstructed by the content.


Last night I was quite busy and got a few things I wanted done. Besides a huge list of grievances I have being squashed, I introduced the Doritos Jacked Black theme (not a joke) and made the popup chat much nicer for mobile users.

I've updated to note that Null has fixed all of my gripes. So now the black UI is great and very usable.

I love this black theme except for one thing: It's damn impossible to tell if you have text highlighted.

If it weren't for the QUOTE ME NOW you would have no idea that Whyte reoveleutian was highlighted.

You have to be on kiwifarms.net and click the Kiwillium word, that opens the style chooser.

Pure white text on such a dark background is kinda jarring, but maybe that's just me.
