As always, it would help the story immensly if he dropped any pretense of "ITS REALISTIC!1" and just admitted to what it is: Escapist fantasy.
A bonus of this is that you can do whatever you want. Have Stryker kick open a weaposn create to reveal... A FAMAS with a underbarrel plasmagun "Now to put the fire in their eyes!" yells Stryker elatedly.

That alone is already paper thin and very obvious right-wing propaganda, but then his "evil reveal" message is completely sane and (more humorously) a policy that is already extant, so the accomplishments of destroying Deagle Nation would change nothing and eliminate what is made out to be a crazy nest of AWOL marines in possession of cutting edge heavy weapons.

Tiberius Rising exists only as a vehicle to tie his momentary whims together in the cheapest manner possible. It's not remotely cohesive. That's why it's so incoherent and has such massive shifts in tone, subject matter, even writing quality.

Tiberius Rising is no longer being billed as a "realistic war novel" but as a "sci-fi war novel". That's an improvement.
