The only time I honestly laughed out loud at something Phil said (as opposed to just laughing at the retarded shit he does, and his pathetic life in general) was at the end of Phil’s “Why should I care about Tevin’s birthday?” rant while he was playing Call of Duty Blackout. In uncharacteristically perfect comic timing, Phil says, “Happy Birthday, SHITHEAD!”

It was just so full of passion and honesty, and those are two things you never get from a DSP stream.

I got some genuine laughs out of this part near the end of his old God of War 3 playthrough, where he dies from fucking up a jump, laughs so much he does it again on purpose, and then somehow manages to fuck it up again when he's actually trying to make the jump.

Bonus: he builds up the fight as the Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan, and then starts talking about Hulkamania during the fight, which seems pretty relevant with his WWE Champions money pit.

Many parts of Phil's earliest videos make me laugh, just the way he had his edgy humor, calling people slurs and in general not giving a fuck, that shit makes me crack up, one part because of how funny it is, and another part how much phil would ruin himself to not say that kind of stuff nowadays to be PC in order to keep his monetization. I recall the soma julius cruz/snort burnell clip where phil says "idk, you jews, you mexicans, you hispanics" etc. that shit was really funny. Another thing that makes me laugh is his 2009 game of the year series where he would have the joke where he ostensibly lists a bad game as the pick followed by this "WRONG" meme. It is funny in an innocent sort of way.

This stream is a goldmine for this type of content.

The entire Scarface LP. Most of Phil's LPs are unwatchable without the help of TIHYDP because there's just so much filler but Scarface was different. Every time he streamed it he found some new and idiotic way to fail. I'll admit it, by the second or third week I was genuinely looking forward to the restream because I knew it was going to be an entertaining trainwreck.

Then there were the SoK antics on top of it. Fred (this was before he turned out to be a psycho) played Phil beautifully by announcing that he'd be making TIHYDP Scarface way before the LP was even completed, and Phil's brilliant response was to thwart the TIHYDP by..... using cheat codes. When that wasn't enough and Phil somehow found a way to lose with God Mode enabled, he beat us dang dirty trolls once and for all by ragequitting so Fred couldn't finish the TIHYDP. Call it a hunch but I still don't think Phil understands how embarrassing that was or what makes TIHYDPs fun.

I think he does, it's just that his incompetence ensures that no matter how boring he gets, there will be things to laugh at nonetheless. But he has managed to cut down on those laughs, obviously, so he HAS to have some idea. Maybe not back then, but now? Definitely.

Phil has never gotten a legit laugh out of me, which is pretty crazy considering that even LTG has managed that, and would do it a lot more if he weren't ACTUALLY such an asshole, just playing one. Shit, he almost got me with his comment about "Better watch my mouth before I get banned from EVO in another dimension." Under different circumstances, that would be a good joke. But he's just being a salty bitch, so no.

Dsp's initial Dark Souls playthrough had several moments that I found funny, surprisingly enough. Mainly in the beginning when he keeps having to repeat the section before the Taurus Demon. It's the only time I've ever watched something on his channel, since it was the only way to see that run, RAW & UNCUT.
