Every time I've gone to a movie theater in the previous decade.
Was in line for a car wash at one of those automated places. There wasn't a line like there normally would be, so I assumed the guy in the car wash bay had just finished his wash and was just not paying attention or something.
I paid for my wash at the terminal, and then the asshole backed up to activate the sensors in the bay and got the car wash I had just paid for. I should have known he was up to no good by hanging around there, but I learned my lesson.
I didn't bother going into the gas station for a refund because it sounds like a bullshit story, and I know from previous experience that guy behind the counter doesn't really speak English and probably wouldn't really give a shit if he did anyway.
Only happened once several years ago, but still pisses me off to this day.

I bought this shit at launch, i was so hyped and when i finally played it i felt scammed. The MP didnt work the first 2 weeks and there was this bug had a chance of crashing the game everytime you switched rooms.
But because the cutscenes were so good, I ended up watching them all and went over the 2 hour refund limit.

Paying $40 for a loose cart of Zelda: Link to the Past back in 2000 at this mom and pop used game store.
I got it on a sale after everything died down around it. I liked it well enough, it passed the time, but it is not worth $40.
If I didn't watch or enjoy the show, there's no chance I would have played the game.
Don't really recommend.

me and some friends where going on a camping trip and decided to buy some weed from one of the pot dealers. we were young at the time and did not have much money so we all pinched in around 8-10 dollars to get it. when we finally set camp and got ourselves ready to smoke, we noticed something. the plastic bag rekt of oregano! we were cheated and mad as fuck! yelling in the night of the woods for a solid hour! with nothing to do, we went to bed early crying ourselves to sleep.
This is 100% my fault that it happened but I used to not make people pay up front for art commissions. I would make people pay before I sent the finished product so it's not like I handed over the goods and let them dissapear into the void of the internet, but it still isn't very good practice unless a trusted friend/ person who you've worked with before is the one you're working with. I had someone offer a solid $200 for a piece, and had I known shit about fuck I would have asked them to do all up front or a half-now, half-later payment. We actually didn't even make it to the "ok, the coloring is done now pay me before I send it over" phase, I sent over the unfinished lineart and the guy never messaged back.
It's one of the constant headaches of doing freelance art stuff, sometimes "pay me now" policies discourage buyers and makes them suspicious, but you have to be careful not to get scammed becasue of it!

This gentleman asked me if he could borrow my phone, I told him no because my phone's battery's flat, he raised his fist and demanded I let him see it or he'd punch me. I handed my phone over and the dickhead punched me anyway.

When I was young and naive I got scammed by a man who claimed to be a college student and he told me that he was doing a college assignment/experiment to see how many people would stop and talk to him. My mom told me to just keep walking but I was a friendly and gullible person so I stopped to chat. He said he sold magazine subscriptions and he tried to get a bunch of money out of me by getting me to sign up for random magazines. I ended up giving the guy about 20 dollars when he wanted more. Considering I never got those magazines, he obviously was faking the whole thing. It taught me a valuable lesson. Never stop for guys on the street.

I fell for a phone scam. I had just opened my business and was going fucking insane from trying to keep all my shit together, got a call saying I was required to have some government safety forms displayed (which is true but they can be gotten for free) and in my sleepless and stressed out state I thought yeah fine whatever and payed like 300 bucks for a few shitty frames and free government papers. I realized as soon as I hung up what happened so I called them back and said some words about their mothers and demanded my money back, they basically laughed and said TFB and stopped answering their phone.
