Tobacco smokers? How much do you pay? -

This just got me thinking, I usually pay £10.70 for 20 smokes (about $13.50 US Dollars), but just came back from a long haul flight, and got 10x 20 of my usual smokes (Marlboro) for £14.20, which is crazy. I also managed to get 30x 50gm Golden Virginia in too, (usually £21.60 each) for £46.

I know the UK is shite for "smokers tax", but if I'd paid for them here, I would have paid £107 for the Marlboros and £648 for the GV. I also got 3 really nice magnetic snap boxes full of free Rizla stuff, which included 15 packs of Rizla green papers, 2 boxes of different filters and 2 rolling machines for each 10 pouch pack I bought of GV.

The Rizla boxes are well nice... (phone is a potato).

I roll my own. I usually buy a 5.3 oz. can of Drum for roughly $50 and that'll last me a good two months or so.

If I'm out and don't feel like rolling a bunch of cigs to take with me, I'll buy a pack of American Spirits perique blend. That costs about $5.50 and a single pack will last me about two days.

American Spirits rolled are like £16 here, so close to $20, (imported and rare) but the Drum sounds not that bad. Worked it out and 150gram (close to 5.3 Oz) would work out as about $80.

That's why I quit. Smokes here cost something like $11 or $12 bucks for 25 and I was spending $250+ a month.

About $45 for 100g tobacco, rolling papers and filters. Lasts me around 8 days usually. Much cheaper than $13.50CAD for a 20 pack of "cheap" cigarettes,which might last me a day and a half at best.

I wouldn't classify myself as a smoker, but occasionally I'll go out and pick up 3 or 4 Black and Milds (wood tip for flavor) and they'll hold me up for about six months. Sets me back about $5.00. If I lost the old lighter another 2.50 to get them burning.

I thought I'd beat the system about 10 years back when I started vaping... Turns out I'm allergic to Propylene Glycol. I'm not ever gonna say that vaping is bad, but I ended up having so many bad things go on, and hilariously, smoking death dirt smoke is better for me. I wasn't even vaping weed, just nicotine and flavours. I nearly died.

50 grams at £10, 12.61 USD. I roll my own, and it is illegal import i think, or duty free as it's always got German warnings on it and not the UK packaging. It is my preferred brand, though. All local shops are pricing things quite absurdly nowadays. You cannot really buy anything cheaper than my aforementioned price, when you used to be able to get one for 2-3 pound at 12 or so grams, which seemed a real god send a couple days before payday, when i always go broke.

I quit smoking 4 years ago but I still always end up with tobacco in my pocket/my carpet when walking home from a night out. 30g of Amber Leaf knocks me back £12-15? Depending if I stop in a newsagents or a 24 hour Supermarket.
