I am majoring in child development.

My goal is to get a 4.0 or at least the highest I can. I have two classes on Tues. and Thurs. So that should give me PLENTY of time to study and get the grades I want.

I'm standing at a 3.5 last time I checked, majoring in biology.

Trust me, it's pretty hard to not get a 4.0, especially since you have a fresh start and are going by choice.

Good luck. Community college isn't too hard, just keep up with the work and talk to your professors if you have any problems and you'll be fine.

And good luck on getting a 4.0 - that's a great goal to have.

Good luck with community college. Hope you have fun attending the one you are enrolled in. And as long as you do well with those classes, getting that 4.0 GPA shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially with the days you have for classes.

When I went to college, my goal was to get a 4.0 GPA. Then I was told that people with 4.0 GPAs usually don't have lives and that grades don't matter that much. So through college, I was a bit of a slacker.

The problem is that I interpreted "that much" to mean "not much." Grades can be very important. Unless you're a very charismatic person who can network like crazy, grades will probably be a huge help in helping you stand out to get a job. It's also good to have if you're planning on transferring to a regular four year school to get a B.S. or B.A. It's even more important if you plan on going to graduate school for an advanced degree.

I know I like to joke around and kid on here, but in all seriousness, one of my regrets about college is that I didn't study hard enough and that made my life a lot more difficult than it had to be. You won't be a failure if you get a 3.9 instead of a 4.0 and don't go crazy with being perfect, but study as hard as you can to get the highest grade that you can and your life will easier for you in the future so then you can do more fun stuff like partying and so forth.

I skipped college and got a job at 18 doing what I wanted to do anyways because I made a fansite for EVE Online

Hey, thank you for all your encouragement. Today, I got the first results of my first test back.

I won't update you on anymore, but I wanted to share this.

I got an 88 for my first Child Dev test.

I admit I was kind of disappointed because I was hoping for something in the 90's, but I'm not going to stress over it. I will just study a lot harder next time.
