Well, this only proofs how irrelevant Tom has become. His constant sadposting, pandering and shitty "content" videos are nothing noteworthy.
This asdf cartoon was uploaded to his second channel, which has obviously not as many subscribers as his main channel, but the viewcount is abysmal when you consider how much of an impact his previous asdf videos had.
After Tom wrote the "I hate TomSka" post and Daft Pina released his video, Tom kept talking about how much he wants to focus more on his main channel again and to produce/film/star in the things he was so passionate about in the past.
Ironically, his "content" on the second channel speaks volumes about how little Tom actually commits to his own promises. The preview pictures are lost in the sea of samey shit on british Youtube and the viewcounts on his videos also show a grim future for him.
This thread died down as much as Toms importance to the british youtube landscape.
What happened to you, Tom? Are you really happier now? Now that you're fat and only release roughly a third of the creativity you used to have.
You peaked, you lost your phantasy, burned bridges with friends and fellow content creators and you'll have to sellout to keep your money influx safe.
Someday though, you'll have to sell the rights to asdf and lay off your friends/employees. Do you think they will still consider you as a friend afterwards?

Edd has been dead for about 8 years now.
Tom needs to leave it alone.
Tom doesn't have any involvement in it, Matt got the Gould family's blessing to continue the series. It's pretty sad that even his family doesn't want to let Edd's work go either after so long.
To be honest, the Eddsworld Legacy Finale didn’t really feel like a final final episode. Tom had so many opportunities to make it grand, yet he and his hack writing team thought they were clever by making one of the former main characters the antagonist and a metaphor for Edds cancer.
I understand why people wouldn’t want the show to continue, even I have mixed feelings about it.
However, the show inspired many aspiring young talents to get into animation. This and the fact that Matt is still donating profits to charity makes it a redeeming point to continue the show.
Tom has appeared on Jackflim's channel and I think he has actually got bigger in size borderline what Jontron was when he started Youtube

The new Eddsworld vid was released. The character of Tom is there, TomSka is not. It's good to hear Oney in an Eddsworld again.
Hopefully they settle a replacement Tom, keep Edd's brother and make some good content for the first time in almost a decade.
So in the episode they leave Tom totally silent, poke fun at his brand of humour and have him huff over it, call out that he didn't cast George Gould as the voice of Edd and bring back Oney for at least a cameo after he was absent during the Tom years. I think it's fair to say that Matt's been itching to say something.

A good look into Toms mind when it comes to improvised comedy. Ironic how most of it fits his ASDF style of humor and hardly works outside of it.
I'm pretty sure that they'll find a new VA for Tom, but I doubt that Oney will stay outside of this cameo.
But yeah, just this and the previous mini episode alone feels so much closer to Edds original sense of humor than anything Tom produced/wrote.
I'm surprised about the news of a german dub though. I dont know if I could ever get used to see/hear it in german.

Part of me wonder if they might get Tord back, but its been like 10 years and dude has probably moved on with his life and isn't interested in being in a cartoon by some guy he knew a decade ago
TBH I barely know the story of that and most of the online results on it are mostly fans going wild on literally anything (I never understood why Eddsworld has such a rabid fanbase)
From what I remember, those rabid fans were mostly the reason why Tord left.
This new cartoon and the DaftPina video makes it clear that Matt is trying to separate the cartoon characters from the real people behind it.
It’s going to be interesting how the first new episode starts. If it’s continuing from this „new“ apartment building from Eddsworld Legacy, chances of Tord (the character) returning for at least a few episodes are relatively high.

You say that, but that was Edd's last request for Tom as the former was dying.
It wasn’t his last request to Tom, he told his mother that he wished for his show to continue. Matt was unable to do so, due to him grieving over the loss of his best friend, so Edds family asked Tom.

Sure, you could argue that Tom simply tried to lighten the mood, or that it’s/was his way of dealing with the fact that his friend has cancer.
But Matt seems far more mature in this scenario than Tom.
