Too Old To Die Young - Nicolas Winding Refn's 13 Hour Film

It was maybe the best show I've ever seen. I didn't really like the first episode - or even the second - but I got used to the pacing and came to love it.
For anyone that hasn't watched it yet, I'd really skip the last two volumes and end it on volume 8. It kind of ruined the show's perfection for me, though that's happened before in movies and shows (e.g. True Detective season 1). Other than that though, for what it is - and it isn't for everyone - it is perfect.

I just saw the YMS review. I like to see him trash on movies sometimes, but I rarely agree with him.
If it starts to get good at 4, then you earn that by watching 1-3. It's pleb advice to start at 4 imo. And the reasons for stopping at 8 aren't because 9 and 10 are unnecessary, it's because it's kind of a rushed together cliff hangar ending with an odd tonal shift, and a feminist message. If I was some kind of feminist, I probably would've liked it.

As a Masculist, I found it extremely offensive.

Finished the first episode. I'm glad that this is not only filling the Slow TV void Twin Peaks: The Return left, but that I can watch Miles Teller in something and not have the overwhelming urge to punch him in the face.

Just finished Episode 5 and I'm digging the shit out of it. Once you get used to the pace, it clicks. The biggest hurdle really is Episode 2, which wasn't even that bad imo. I've also heard that I should stop at Episode 8. Any truth to that?
