They enjoy causing pain. It's a form of petty violence to them and they think it's not at all like the real type of hateful harassment meant to drive people out of business because of their race. It's only like pinching someone or yanking their hair as a way to correct them for being stupid. In some ways it is similar to domestic abuse situation where the victim always had it coming and should've known better.
And they don't/won't even try to relate to or think about employees being let go during Corona Season 2 AND Christmas season because they didn't fire anyone, they weren't the ones that were wrong, it is the owners that should think about what they have done and fix it somehow.

The Toronto Star is absolutely pozzed, and in my opinion, the biggest source of MSM poz in Canada, CBC aside. Their 'social justice' roots are now a mockery, considering how much idpol they espouse these days.

I've said it before, but it seems to be increasingly common for people to be obsessed with "credit". They want to be specially acknowledged for everything they like and do, every idea they come up with and express to others, and they want to have absolute control over it all to the point where they get to dictate who is and isn't allowed to partake in it. It's in fan communities, like you said. It's in crafts and hobbies and art. "Cultural appropriation" is just the woke, academic version of it.
I kind of blame increasing awareness (and misunderstanding) of copyright, giving people this notion that non-material things are the same as physical objects, and can be owned and sold and stolen in the same way something like a car can.

Which would ironically be a form of cultural appropriation since the idea of copyright/ownership of non-material things and concepts is one found in certain non-Western cultures (IIRC some Native American, Aussie Aboriginal, and African cultures)
